The AMAX System

AMAX uses multiple heat exchange stages to maximize the energy savings potential of evaporative cooling while maintaining comfort across a broad range of ambient conditions.

AMAX offers Indirect Only Evaporative Cooling (IEC), Indirect/Direct (IDEC) and Hybrid DX configurations to meet all cooling requirements while saving up to 80% of the electric cost of comparable compressor based systems.

AMAX Applications• AMAX offers the greatest energy saving benefits in

extreme climate conditions- the hotter the ambient conditions the better the performance compared to DX.

• AMAX can provide 100% outdoor air and is ideal for casinos, hospitals, schools, restaurants or other installations that require large amounts of fresh conditioned air.

• AMAX Return on Investment is greatest when large amount of process cooling are required for extended periods – for example, in data centers, manufacturing facilities etc. Outdoor air is not required for these applications.

AMAX• Custom Engineering Solutions with

variable sizing and configuration to meet all requirements.

• Powered Economizers and Powered Pre-Coolers sized for quick retrofit to existing RTUs

• Integrated chilled or hot water coils for cost effective full HVAC solution.

AMAX Retrofit Options

• Powered Economizers™ in IDEC or Indirect Only configuration significantly reduce DX cooling hours while providing cold conditioned fresh air.

• Powered Economizers can also be used to pre-cool condensing units for significant energy savings.

• Adding low cost Powered Economizers to RTUs results in Energy Savings, Rebates and Extended Life of the RTU.

• “Energy-saving technologies such as Indirect Evaporative Cooling… reduce costs as well as carbon emissions while directing more power to customer cabinets.”

• “With this state-of-the-art design we have achieved an estimated 1.3 PUE (Power Use Effectiveness) where a traditional data is typically above a 2.0.”

• PUE is calculated by dividing total facility power consumption by server power use.

• PUE with standard CRAC was estimated at 1.6. PUE with AMAX is estimated at 1.3. Total AMAX cooling power use is .07.

• AMAX power consumption is estimated to cost $7,000 per month and save $30,000 per month compared with traditional CRAC units according to Rich Bader, President and CEO of EasyStreet.
