1. Identify and describe the current water situation at the school. How many faucets are currently being used to practice healthy habits? (ie: 1 faucet for 160 children).Include separate pictures of use. Reduce all pictures to less than 350 kb.

There is 1 pila (1 faucet), 2 faucets in the girls bathroom, and 2 faucets in the boys bathroom. There are 5 faucets in total for 232 students, and the faucets work properly.

2. How and when does the school receive water? Does the school receive water at night? Is the water from a well, spring site, etc? Please provide a detailed description in regards to how often the school has water and/or how water is distributed in the community. If there are water issues in the community, what are they?

There are no water issues in the school. The school receives their water from the municipality and from a spring site within the community. The school has water everyday, including at night.

3. Identify and describe the current drainage situation at the school (ie: one or two cabin septic tank, seepage pit, etc). Where does the grey water go (dirty water with no feces)? Where does the black water go (water with feces)? How these infrastructures are constructed (material, depth, dimensions, etc)? Is the drainage located at least slightly downhill from the desired location of the new hand washing station?

The school has drainage tubes running from the faucets into the ravine, which is located downhill from the school. There are flushing toilets. The black water goes into a septic tank below the bathrooms (Figure 4). Dimensions for the septic tank are unknown.

4. What type of infrastructure project would the school like to realize? (ie: 2000L tank/Island-style lavamano, 8-faucet wall-style, digging of a well or rain-catchment tank) Please note: if the school has more than 350 students you can request two hand washing stations. Peace Corps and the Ministry of Education agree that there would be about one faucet for every 30 students.

The school would like to realize an 8 faucet hand-washing station with a security doors. Whether it is a wall-style or stand-alone will depend on the expertise of APS masons.
