The Spanish course takes place near the village of Coca. To get to the school you take

a 45-minute boat trip on the river Rio Napo.

PROGRAMME

Day 1 Departure from Quito to Coca by bus (9.00 pm)

Day 2

Arrival in Coca (6.30 am); breakfast; departure from Coca towards the school (10.00 am); lunch (12.30 pm); Spanish lessons (1.30 pm – 5.30 pm), dinner; excursion: Night trip with canoe – observation of caimans, reptiles and nocturnal birds

Day 4

Breakfast (6.30), Spanish lessons (8.00 am – 12.00 pm); lunch; excursion: hiking

through the jungle (giant trees, medicinal plants used by the indigenous people); dinner

Day 5

Breakfast (6.30); Spanish lessons (8.00 am – 12.00 pm); lunch; excursion: visit of an

indigenous community – Samona Yuturi – (learning about traditions and customs); dinner

Day 6

Breakfast (6.30 am); Spanish lessons (8.00 am – 12.00 pm); lunch; excursion:

natives demonstrate how to use the blowpipe (hunting weapon of the indigenous people); return to Coca; dinner (7.30 pm); return to Quito by bus (9.30 pm)

Day 7

Arrival in Quito (6.30 am)

Note: in order to guarantee the security of the participants, the programme can be

subject to alterations due to weather conditions. The hours can differ slightly

(approximate times given).

Day 3

Breakfast (6.30 am); Spanish lessons (8.00 am – 12.00 pm); lunch; excursion (2.30

pm): tour through the swamp, climbing onto the birdwatching tower (32 meters); dinner

The price for the “Amazonas-Programme” includes the following:

- Return ticket for bus ride Quita-Coca

- Potable water during excursions

- Rubber boots for excursions through the jungle (up to size 43)
