major university-wide events, such as the Big Event (a Community Service Day) and

    Movie Nights.

The Environmental Sciences Building is mainly run on Solar Power, and it also has a

    world population counter.

UNT hosts the Distinguished Speaker Series. Just last week, Robert Gates came to speakat the Coliseum. Last year, we invited former President George W. Bush and animal

aficionado Jeff Corwin. Tickets to attend these speeches are free for all TAMS students.

UNT has multiple libraries on campus. Willis library is the largest, and has a Music Library

on the fourth floor (where you can check out tons of CDs and sheet music) and a Rare

Books Collection. In fact, Willis Library had so many books, that some had to moved to

remote storage. The Media Library at Chilton has a ton of DVDs and videogames you can

check out (its like a free Blockbuster). The Eagle Commons Library has a bunch of

scientific journal articles and old textbooks.

There are General Access Computer Labs across campus, a few of which are open for 24

hours a day. These computers have up-to-date programs, anything from Microsoft Office

    to CS5 and Photoshop.

The Health Center (between McConnell and the Rec) offers annual flu shots. Check-ups

are free with a UNT/TAMS ID, and theres a pharmacy and Optical center on the first floor

    of the building.

Pohl Recreation Center is a multi-million dollar facility with a variety of exercise

machines, a rock climbing wall, indoor pools, and a track. The energy you generate from

working out on the elliptical is used to power the facility.

We had a snow-pocalypse last year. We got iced in and missed four days of school.
