1. Introduction:
This Project presents an automotive localization system for Ambulances
providing the current status of Patient’s health and requirements beforereaching the Hospital using GPS and GSM-SMS services. Also this
project gives an idea of interactive emergency vehicle making its pathclear before reaching to a traffic signal.
2. Background /Context:
In today’s life, science is playing very important role in making of human
life more safe, healthy and comfortable with all entertainments as well asinformative possibly at every instance, at any place with user friendly but
High Tech Devices.
Use of Mobile phone systems, satellite communication, internet, GSMand GPS applications are now part of our lives and very common almost
in most of the regions on the earth.
In this project we have concentrated on the concept of Vehicle Tracking
Systems and Satellite Navigation. In spite of that, these concepts are not
very much unique, but the idea is that the technology is changing very
rapidly providing plenty of opportunities for new comers to utilize their fresh knowledge and ideas in developing of new applications and service
the humanity with their inventions.

3. Aims and Objectives:
In this project we are going to develop a system which has three mainfunctions.
First one is to track an emergency vehicle (an Ambulance in our project).
The Ambulance is equipped with a Satellite receiver known as Global
Positioning System or GPS. The position of Ambulance will be received
through GPS and then this data will be transmitted to the hospital andother services departments using Global System for Mobile or GSM. The
hospital will also be equipped with a GSM based system and the relevantstaff can locate the actual position of the Ambulance on the Map.
Second function is related with the first one. The status of the patient willalso be taken inside the ambulance and will be transmitted to the hospital.
The advantage of the system is that when this ambulance will reach to thehospital, the medical staff will be very much aware of the patient’s
situation and they will take no further time to repeat the medical procedures before taking patient to the emergency or to the suitable ward.
Also medical staff can arrange a patient cum situation specific
environment before the ambulance enters the Hospital. This also saves
time which is always very precious for a life saving situation.
Third function of this system is related with the traffic situationespecially in busy cities. An ambulance is always equipped with a siren
that really helps to get its way, but sometimes it is very time consuming
when an Ambulance reaches to a stopped signal with the help of other
drivers it gets its way very slowly and cross the running trafficdangerously Our system is making this system more advance by
controlling the stop signal and clear its way before reaching to a crossing.It will reduce the ambulance reaching time effectively with great figures.
