WHAT IS AME-SADA? AME-SADA is the humanitarian relief and development entity of the AME Church; We are a charitable institution under section 501(C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code; The idea of forming AME-SADA was conceived by a small group of visionaries and humanists who gathered 30 years ago to form the organization we today call AME-SADA. AME-SADA is grounded in the African Methodist Episcopal Church's mission to seek out, save the lost and serve the needy; We affirm the worth, dignity and human rights of every person and the interdependence of all life.

Delice 1 Clinic The Delice Clinic located in the 5th. Sector, is bordered by

the National road #1 from the region of Carrefour Damier, to the area of Nan Michel; it has 13 administrative sectors and an estimated population of 15,893 inhabitants. AME-SADA STAFF consist of 2 nurses, 2 nurses aides, 1 laboratory technician and weekly visiting physicians, 8 health agents and 64 traditional birth attendants (TBAs).

This Center sees approximately 9,000 patients/year at the clinic and through its extensive outreach program; The new building pictured in the next slide will allow for a larger and more efficient patient load and provide adequate housing for the AME-SADA medical personnel staffing the clinic. They spend the week at the clinic and go home on week-ends; eventually week-end services will be provided as funds allow.

POWER Sources: Solar power is planned for the new building; currently the building uses a small Honda generator which operates no more than two hours/each day. There are 4 car batteries and an inverter to store electrical energy; in addition, a propane powered refrigerator is used for vaccines.

Transitional and Treatment Facility for At- Risk Pregnant Women in Bercy

Haiti has highest maternal mortality rate in the Western Hemisphere.

Local communities do not have adequate roads or transport to reach appropriate care site. In the case of at-risk pregnancies the center will provide treatment and housing for women and their other young children.

Site is located on National road and therefore has fastest access to regional hospital should surgery or other advanced treatment be required.

Will contribute to the decrease of child and maternal morbidity and mortality.
