• I love this Nation…

• We are living on the blessings of our founding fathers.

• It’s only the Mercy of God that it’s so good

• But America is in Sin…

• This nation is REJECTING GOD!

"Why do people reject Jesus?

UNBELIEF

• One of the most popular reasons is Unbelief. • They have created their own idols whether by

hand or mental image. They are willingly unwilling to change their mind and are close-minded beyond belief. They believe anything as long as it does not involve Jesus Christ or Christianity.

• Although their unbelief does not negate reality, it will cloud the truth from their hearts forever.

“I don’t need Jesus”

• Some people do not think that they need a savior.

• These people consider themselves to be “basically good” and do not realize that they, like all people, are sinners and can’t come to God on their own terms.

• Those who reject Christ will never stand before God and plead their own case on their own merits.

“What will people think?”

• The fear of social rejection

• They are concerned with their status among their peers than doing God’s will:

APATHY

• There are some people who simply don’t care. • These people simply don’t care where they go

for eternity. • They don’t care about God, Christ, Morals,

Ethics, anything. They care about nothing but themselves. Apathy is rooted in selfishness.

• They are so carefree and caught up in their own selfish world that they have no thought of anything.

Okay, what do I have to give up?

• Some reject Jesus because of what they have to give up.

Some people just resist!• Many people are simply resisting the Holy

Spirit’s attempts to convict them.

• Stephen, in the bible said “You men who are stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears are always resisting the Holy Spirit...”

Isaiah 26:9

9) With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

America does not want to hear!

• That judgment comes when sin takes over a nation

• Is there a backdoor that God will overlook our sin? NO

There is a total denial of this…

• If we just ignore this• It’s like this bird• If we just pacify our

own hearts that it wont happen.

• But know that we are in the path of destruction…

Ecclesiastes 1:9-10

9) What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

Ever heard the statement History repeats itself…

10) Is there anything of which one can say, "Look! This is something new"? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.

Another History Lesson The Great Depression?

• Let’s look back…• They said before the Great Depression…• Poverty will be banished• Society was rich• The market is great and promising• Even though there was Prohibition. There

was more drinking then ever before• They said that every thing is fine

But then the Stock Market Crashed!

• Fred Bell was a wealthy businessman but was reduced to sell apples after the Wall Street Crash to feed his family.

• In just days people that were rich, became beggars.

Shortly After the Great Depression

• Devastating weather changes

• Storms and water droughts, sweep entire parts of the country

• The Dust bowl came upon our farmers

• They had no money and no food to feed their families

• What happened? They turned to God!

• What’s happening today?

You say This can’t happen to us…

But today…we say…

• I don’t need God• I’m too busy being entertained• Everything is fine• I don’t need God, I’ve got my homework, I

have television or the internet• Some say I got a job• I don’t need God• I’ve got things to do• Where are most people right now?• They could care less about God’s judgments

What has happened?

Outer Darkness

• Whatever the reasons why people reject Jesus Christ, their rejection has disastrous eternal consequences. “There is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" than the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12), and those who reject Him, for whatever reason, face an eternity in the “outer darkness” of hell where there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 25:30).
