Memphis leads the way with two victories, winning both matches with 4-0 margins. The Tigers are now receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll. ECU joins Memphis and UCF as the league’s undefeated schools as the Pirates drew at Old Dominon before downing Radford in impressive fashion, 5-1, in their home-opener. ECU now has a date at No. 16/16 NC State as their next contest. UCF which remains in both national polls had its season opener rained out but is now set to start play with two nationally-ranked battles. The Knights host No. 21/21 Texas on Friday at 4 p.m., and then travel to No. 4/3 North Carolina on Sunday at 2 p.m. USF joins UCF as teams to appear in both national polls thanks to a season-opening win against Towson before traveling to then-No. 8/5 Virginia. The Bulls continue top-25 play on Friday when they host No. 17/20 Baylor at 7 p.m. Cincinnati also enters the nation’s top contenders conversation as the Bearcats defeated Eastern Kentucky, 2-1, and played RV/- Auburn close, 2-1. SMU rounded out last week’s victors for The American as the Mustangs downed DePaul, 2-1. The week two American schedule features 19 games on the docket with four schools playing top-25 foes. She scored twice in a 4-0 win over Central Arkansas and scored in the Tigers’ home- opening victory against Omaha. Larisey ripped eight shots in 145 minutes of action and put six on goal. D EFENSIVE P LAYER OF THE W EEK Jayda Hylton - Pelaia - Jr. - ECU The Pirates are one of three undefeated American teams thanks to a sterling defensive effort from Hylton-Pelaia. She played all 110 minutes in a draw at Old Dominion as ECU held the Monarchs scoreless over the final 95 minutes despite being a player down, in addition to a goal-saving block in double OT. The defender also added an assist in a win against Radford. G OALKEEPER OF THE W EEK Elizabeth Moberg - So. - Memphis The Tigers’ second-year keeper opened the year with back-to-back shutout wins as she played all 180 minutes in front of the net. She tallied six saves over two games including five stops in a victory against Central Arkansas. The clean sheets were her fifth and sixth of her career. R OOKIE OF THE W EEK Brandi Thomsen - Fr. - Cincinnati The Bearcats’ midfielder made an immediate impact as she scored the game-winning goal in a come-from- behind win against Eastern Kentucky. She also started and played 67 minutes on the road as Cincinnati went up against No. 8 Virginia. H ONOR R OLL Kelli Burney - Jr. - USF The Bulls center back came up with a big block late in a win over Towson and added a goal at Auburn on Sunday. Courtney Cash - Sr. - ECU Played all 110 minutes in a draw against Old Dominion and added three points with a goal and an assist in a win over Radford. Weekly AWArDsThe American names an Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, Goalkeeper of the Week, and Rookie of the Week each Monday morning during the season, along with a five-player Honor Roll. Winners are chosen from nominations provided by conference sports information directors. The information will be available from the conference office via release as well as on the league web site.

AnnuAl AWArDsThe American Athletic Conference will name all-conference teams and individual honors following the conclusion of the regular season. The awards are chosen by a vote of the league’s 10 head coaches at the conclusion of the regular season and will be announced shortly thereafter.
