What are your tips for fine dining in London?Getting a table is hard at times, but like everything else, your best bet is to plan

ahead and book in advance. If planning isn’t your strong suit, the American Express Platinum Card concierge service is amazing for getting tables and invites to special events. As well as the booking service they offer there are additional special treats for Platinum Cardmembers.

Which restaurants do you recommend?Lately I have been recommending The Delaunay to friends coming through town. Chris Corbin and Jeremy King are masters of the European cafe, so it’s a great setting with something to appeal to everyone. Le Caprice is an old favourite for an evening out – director Jesus Adorno is always gracious. And of course, the original maestro, Kevin Lansdown (Maitre d’ of Scott’s in Mayfair).

Could you tell us your favourite Bar Boulud wine and food pairings?The BB burger, our take on Daniel Boulud’s famous NY DB burger, paired with Castagna Adam’s Rib the Red, Beechworth, Australia 2008, a velvety, aromatic perfectly ripe and balanced wine, which complements all the different flavours. Or our charcuterie, made in house, is what we do best and is the basis for the concept of the restaurant. Pair it with Marsanne from Yves Cuilleron 2010 – lively, aromatic, perfectly perfumed and never overpowering. For a lighter option, try the crab salad. We have exceptional seafood, paired with Lopez de Heredia, Viña Tondonia, Rioja Blanco Reserva, Spain 1993, a near perfect wine.
