Getting Started @ Work Reporting gives you the power and flexibility to turn information into actionable insights that work for you. When you have a comprehensive picture of your spending, you can create real impacts for your business.

@ Work Reporting is available through a simple and intuitive interface accessed by selecting the “Go” button within the Reports section on the @ Work Home Page.

To access @ Work Reporting, first log onto American Express @ Work by visiting the American Express Home Page at https://www.americanexpress.com.

1. Locate the login box and enter your User ID and Password.

2. Select American Express @ Work from the drop-down menu.

3. Click log in.

4. From the @ Work home page, locate the Reports section.

5. Click on the GO button to access @ Work Reporting.

@ Work Reporting: Basic Navigation The @ Work Reporting tool has an easy to use layout and a convenient left hand navigation menu.

A: The left hand navigation menu allows you to quickly switch between your available reports and your ready-to-create report templates.

B: The dark blue header bar tells you which section of the tool you are currently viewing.

C: The session timer tells you how many minutes remain in your current session. To refresh this timer perform any action on the current page.

D: The Resources & Help link provides you with help and best practice documents.

E: The Set Preferences link allows you to set @ Work Reporting preferences such as email notifications and current time zone.

View Reports: Available Reports The Available Reports section allows you to view, open, and manage your previously run reports. A: Enter Keywords to search through reports, use the Filters to refine your report list.

B: Use the Sort options, A-Z and Date to order your reports.

C: Visual thumbnails depict the Type of report (i.e. Airplane for Airline Reports)

D: Scheduled reports are grouped together, numbers on the thumbnails show how many reports are in the grouping.

E: Click the down arrow next to the report name to reveal more information about the report as well as the older iterations.

F: The down arrow reveals the report Description, Current Set Up Information, and older iterations of the report.

G: Click on the icons to open/download your report. The Descriptive Icons depict the type of report.

View Reports: Options Button Use the Options Button to manage reports: request reruns, modify schedules, delete reports and more.

A: Expand the Options button next to each report to reveal the report manager functionalities. Click on the desired option and follow the onscreen prompts to complete the requested action. Deactivate Schedule –deactivates the current report schedule, once selected, the Setup Information and all associated reports will move to the Deactivated section. No further reports will be generated for this schedule. This schedule can be re-activated at any time from the Deactivated section. Delete Report – delete the associated report. This deletes the report NOT the report schedule. To delete the most current version of a grouped report you must first delete all older iterations. Delete Schedule – delete the associated report schedule. No further reports will be generated if this action is selected. Modify Setup – change setup selections such as control account and frequency. Rerun – request a rerun of a prior period for the associated report schedule.

B: Delete older iterations of the reports. To make changes to the report schedule use the Options button next to the most current version of the report.

C: Check the box(es) to delete multiple reports. Once the desired check boxes are selected, choose the Delete Selected (D) option from the top of the column.

View Reports: Upcoming Schedules The Upcoming section displays a listing of all of the reports you have set on a schedule. Once available for viewing, the reports will be found in the Available Section. A: View the report title and use the arrow to reveal more information.

B: View Current Set Up Information.

C: Use the Options button to manage your schedule settings, request reruns, or deactivate/delete the schedule.

View Reports: Deactivated Schedules The Deactivated section displays a listing of all of the reports schedules you have deactivated. No further reports will be run for these schedules until you re-activate the schedule.

A: View the report title and use the arrow to reveal more information.

B: View the Set Up Information for the Deactivated report.

C: If the reports for this schedule were not deleted prior to the schedule being deactivated, the reports can be opened by clicking the corresponding File Type icons.

D: Use the Options button to re-activate or delete the report schedule.

Report Builder: Select a Report Template From the Report Builder tab you can select the report template you wish to run. This tab contains all American Express templates as well as user saved templates.

A: Select a folder from the left and view the available templates on the right. American Express Templates - all prebuilt templates available (Standard and Customized) Saved Market Templates – My Reports - all templates that have been modified and saved by you. Saved Market Templates – Company Reports - templates that have been modified and saved by anyone in your company that has access to this folder.

B: Use the Category and Type drop down menus to refine your search results.

C: The different icons depict the type of report available: - A Customized Report - A Standard Report - A Dashboard

D: Click the Report Name to view the Template Description.

E: Click the Get Started link to start building the selected Report.

F: Click View Samples, FAQs and Best Practices for more information.

G: Click on the Report Preferences link to modify your preferences. Note: This is available from any tab.

Report Builder: Create a Standard Report Once you have chosen to run a Standard report, follow the onscreen steps to set up the report to run automatically. Standard reports will not run immediately, timing is based on the Frequency of the report. Monthly reports are based on your program’s cycle cut. Once the report has run it will be posted to your Report List.

A: Using the simple Filters search through your program hierarchy.

B: Select the level you wish to set up the report at by clicking on the control account.

C: Your selected hierarchy will appear in the Selected Box.

D: To save this hierarchy selection for future reports click the Save as Default button.

E: Once you have selected your Hierarchy Level, use the navigation buttons to continue to the next step.

Report Builder: Create a Standard Report (continued)

A: The Frequency of the report will be displayed in the bill date section.

B: Optional Additional Options are available to further customize your report.

C: Check this box to request a report from the previous month. All subsequent reports will be delivered to your Report List after your next cycle cut.

D: Once you have selected your options, click Run Report.

Note: New report set ups take approximately 30 minutes to appear on your Report Manager tab.

Report Builder: Create a Customized Report – Select Hierarchy Once you have chosen to run a Customized report, follow the simple on-screen steps to create the report the best suites your needs.

A: Follow the Breadcrumb trail to complete the steps to build your report. The Select Hierarchy step must be filled out prior to continuing. B: Search allows you to search through your hierarchy to find the level you wish to run your report at. Type in a key word or number to find the control account you are looking for. C: The Filter section allows you narrow down the Control Account(s) to quickly find the level you are looking for. D: Displays the hierarchy levels available to you. To select the control account you wish to run the report with, simply click on it or use the arrows to the right. E: Displays the hierarchy selection that the report will run for. F: To save this hierarchy selection for future reports click the Save as Default button.

G: Once you have selected your Hierarchy Level, use the navigation buttons to continue to the next step.

Report Builder: Create a Customized Report – Additional Options Once you have chosen to run a Customized report, follow the simple on-screen steps to create the report the best suites your needs.

A: Follow the Breadcrumb trail to complete the steps to build your report. The Additional Options step must be filled out prior to continuing. B: With the radio buttons select the type of report you wish to run. In many cases you can choose between a detail level report (up to 27 months of transaction level data) or a summary level report (up to 51 months of summary level data). C: Select the Billing Date you want to appear on the report. Select from a predetermined drop down menu or use the calendar option to customize your dates. D: Choose a name for your report that is meaningful to you (i.e. Hotel Activity for Western Division), or leave the default template name. This is the name the report will be listed with in your Report List. E: Once you have made your selections continue to the Next step or choose to Run Report.

Report Builder: Customized Report – Data and Filters Tabs

A: Follow the Breadcrumb trail to complete the steps to build your report. The Filters step is an optional step in the report building process. B: Use the convenient and intuitive Quick Filters to customize your report and see only the information you need. C: Your Quick Filter selections will be displayed in this box. D: Use the Clear All Selections button to remove all selections in this step and return to their default selections. E: Use the Advanced Filter selections to apply advanced filters to your report. F: Once you have made your selections continue to the Next step or choose to Run Report.

Report Builder: Create a Customized Report – Additional Data Once you have chosen to run a Customized report, follow the simple on-screen steps to create the report the best suites your needs.

A: Use the Collapse All and Expand All links to hide or show the data elements available on the report. B: Use the check boxes to add (check) or remove (uncheck) individual data elements. C: The Data Display Order box displays the data elements that will appear as column headers on the report. Use the arrows to the right of the box to reorder the data elements (column headers). C: The Data Display Order box will update when you add or remove data selections. Use arrows on the right of the box to change the column order. TIP: double click on elements in this box to quickly remove them from your report. A: Follow the Breadcrumb trail to complete the steps to build your report. The Additional Data step is an optional step in the report building process. B: use the check boxes to easily add or remove elements from your reports. Each element you add will appear as a column on your report. C: The Data Display Order and Calculation Display Order boxes show you the order the columns will appear on your report. Use the arrows to the right of the boxes to change your column order. D: Use the Clear All Selections button to remove all selections in this step and return to their default selections. E: Once you have made your selections choose to Run Report.

Report Viewer: View Your Standard Report Results Standard reports can be viewed in either PDF or Excel formats. The PDF format offers on-screen insights highlighting and summarizing key data.

PDF Version A: Report name, report month, Reporting Group and other report specific details. B: Summary level data highlighting key insights. NOTE: First page of PDF provides key insights, following pages provide details. Use the PDF version to gain insight into your program, print this version for a portable summary of key metrics.

Excel Version A: Report name, report month, Reporting Group and other report specific details. B: A summary of the report. C: Report data, use the excel version to manipulate, sort and analyze data.

eAccount Review Available in PDF or PowerPoint, this unique Standard Report provides a summary of your program including key metrics and meaningful insights into your company’s spend. A: Multiple pages with data and insights tailored to your program. B: Charts and graphs provide visual representation of overall program spend. C: Key insights to help you make important, informed decisions.

Report Viewer: View Your Customized Report Results Report Results will be displayed in an on-screen Report Viewer. You can manipulate your results on screen or export them to your computer. A: Use the Navigation Bars to perform simple tasks such as; sort columns, display in graph view, and export your report. Hover over each icon to reveal tool tip text. B: Use the Change Report Selections button to re-prompt your report and make changes to your report criteria. C: View your report results in an easy to read format. Click on column headers to sort columns, right click on column headers to reveal advanced functionality. Hyperlinked data elements indicate a drilling feature. Click on hyperlinked data elements to drill further into your report data.

Prompts and Filters: Understanding the Prompts and Filters Filter Styles

Many of the optional filters on the Filters tab of a report template require an item to be selected prior to adding any filter values. Select the option from the Available box and use the arrows between the boxes to select your choice.

Example: Filtering by a Cardmember Account Number

1. Click “Cardmember Acct. #” from Available box, click on right arrow to select it

2. Click on “Value” link, enter value into box, click OK

3. Click on “ID1” link, select “DISPLAY_REPORT”

4. Click on “EQUALS” to change selection logic (if needed)

Some filters are designed like a tree-like structure. Expand the selections using the +. Once you have made your selection use the arrows between the boxes to select your choice.
