Edward TaylorBefore his emigration to America, Edward Taylor worked as a teacher in England. Upon arriving to Boston in 1668, Taylor entered Harvard College as a sophomore and graduated in 1671. He later became a minister and physician in Westfield, MassachusettsHe is generally regarded as the best of the North American colonial poets. Because he thought of his poetry as form personal worship, he only published 2 stanzas.
