World Series (ACWS).

edition of the three year America’s Cup
programme which will end in Bermuda
in 2017 when the final two competitors
match race for the coveted trophy, one
of the oldest and best-known trophies in

22 - 24 JULY 2016
As a local business owner and resident
I have been supportive of Team Origin
and the BAR campaign to bring
the America’s Cup World Series to
Portsmouth. It is an ideal location, with
its rich maritime history the city offers an
amazing spectator areas on land and
excellent sailing. So we are very pleased
to provide Clipper Events guests with
front row seats to the on-water action
and combine this with the opportunity
to sail our big ocean racers. The events
between 23rd and 26th July are the
first skirmish in the 2017 Americas Cup
challenge, so the opportunity to see how
the various teams are developing with
their incredible new foiling catamarans.
I will be watching avidly in the hope
we can finally bring the cup to
Portsmouth in 2017!
Sir Robin Knox-Johnston
The calibre of staff both on and off the water is very
high. The skipper and mates are always enthusiastic and
professional, demonstrating a level of professionalism that
is hard to match elsewhere in the sailing industry. With the
impressive size of boats Clipper Events offers, it is easy
to spot the other teams on the water, which adds an extra
level of competitiveness between the teams as they aim to
be first back across the finish line.

The design objective was quite simple. We wanted a large, strong, fast and seaworthy yacht that
would race around the world at least 4 times. The boats have more than lived up to our expectations.
They have proved fast and reliable and given their crews some very exciting sailing through some of
the most dangerous waters in the world. It is heart-warming to see the yachts regularly out on the
water and giving so much pleasure to new and novice sailors.
