A young Bengali girl and a young man from Kerala
She soon got swept off to … Border areas!
Life with the Army – quite an adventure!
– but lots and lots of…
…..fun together
and the start of an adventure!
Aaaah!----Army life!
And starting a family……

And then …. She was introduced to
Blackie…the first of a line of family dogs !
Seeing Refugee camps … the rougher edges
When the going gets rough….move into paradise!
And a love affair with her new family in Kerala
and they embraced her and she became one of them!
When they move back to HQ in Delhi ….Army housing has the best locations

A new place – & new responsibilities that she loved
She filled the house with plants – lovely and tropical
Near the ocean – so like her beloved Kerala
And new adventures…..safaris to all the game parks
She learned to drive …
Special people came into her life!
She loved Laxmi Menon !
Kenyatta was rising as independence neared!
And Tom Mboya had a special place in her heart
Honored guests that she entertained with excitement
At her home …cocktail parties…with famous people!
we kids were always impressed! - & took advantage!
Madame president- of Rotary Club
Celebrating Tagore’s centennial with dance drama
And always……travels to far away places
And unusual experiences
Back in India …….and adopting a stray pup
Watching, with fascinated curiosity, her kids growing up
Then….
A new phase
Maybe this was a difficult one?
She watched her kids spread their wingsand was the wind beneath their wings
She sent her kids far away…and visited
