REGARDING OUR AFFILIATIONS

Refe rring to the matter presented in the last issueof the Triangle under the Pronunziamento No. 777,we wish to say that the A. M. O. R. C. has receivedofficial communications from various parts of theworld relating to the reconstruction of J urisdictions of the Rosicrucian Order decreed since the great warended. From these communications we learn thatour Rosicrucian Order (in its Latin name or transla-tions) is organized in the following countries: NorthAmerica, South America and its countries, Norway,Sweden, Denmark, Great Britain, Russia, Poland, Ger-many, Austria, F rance, Switzerland, Spain and Portu-gal, I taly, Persia, Arabia, Egypt, Sicily, Malta, Northcoast countries of Africa, South Africa, Gold Coast of Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, South SeaIslands, Japan, China and India. In such other coun-

tries as Belgium and H olland, T urkey and the BalkanStates, plans are not completed, while in Palestine theOrder is about to annpunce its reorganization.

We further 1earn that the Jurisdiction of our Orderhere has been added to and that we are also empow-ered to act as representatives of certain E nglishLodges in other countries. But more important thanthis are the official papers of affiliation and fraternalrelationship sent to us from many foreign centers andthe honoring of our I mperator as an official of thehighest Lodges of the O rder in other countries.

One other item may interest our members. Alarge and interesting document was received duringthe month of A ugust from a Sovereign Sanctum of Freemasonry abroad cpnferring upon our Imperatorthe highest M asonic degrees such as Honorary 33 rdand the 90th and 95th D egrees of the Ancient andPrimitive Rites of Memphis and M izraim (under acharter of authority issued by Joh n Y arker, 33 rd, theeminent Masonic authority and historian and Sover-eign Grand Master G eneral of England) whereby ourImperator is given the Masonic titles of Prince of Memphis (E gypt), M ember of the Sovereign Tribunaland D efender of the O rder; and Sovereign PatriarchalGrand Conservator of the Rites, Sublime Prince of theMagi. The H onorary 33 rd Degree carries with it thetitle of K night Grand Inspector General. The docu-ment further makes the Imperator an H onorary Mem-ber of the Sovereign Sanctuary of Switzerland, Aus-tria and Germany. These Masonic honors are con-ferred under the charter and authority of G randO rient of ancient Gaul and the Supreme Sanctuary of Great Britain. A lso‘*the Ordo Templi O rientia (O rien-tal Order of the Temple, F raternity of the H ermeticL ight), has conferred its high degrees upon our Im-perator with the title of Most I llustrious Sir K nightand Fratre R. C., appointing our Supreme Lodge inthis country as Gage of Amity for the Ordo TempliOrientis of Europe.

Furthermore, the world council of the RosicrucianOrder, under its official title (translated), “The Su-preme H igh Council of the Universe,’’ through its

Great White Collegium (L odge), announces its forth-coming annual pronouncements, conferring upon' ourOrder some high h onors and making all our high de-gree members of the Supreme Grand Lodge of NbrthAmerica, H onorary Members of the Grand Shrine of Egypt and of the I lluminati of I ndia by virtue of thevpower of the Magister of the Temple R. By all this it will be seen that the A . M. O. R. C.is the only organization, body, society or group of Rosicrucians in America (o r in the world, for thatmatter) having the approval, recognition ai\ d direc-tion of the Supreme H igh Council of all ancient andmodern Secret Rites.

INTERESTING NOTES

We have just learned that the mummy of Q ueen T i,mother of Amenhotp I V, which was brought to A mer-ica some time ago, is now in the museum of theE mery University of A tlanta. If any of ourmemberscan get to this place to examine the mummy and trans-late the ancient tablet that is with it we will be gladto have further information for publication in the

 T riangie.

T he recent epidemic of suicide, especially amongchildren, can be easily traced to the Aquarian influ-ence upon the minds of those who have not come toappreciate mystical laws and interpret impulses andstrange desires as they should be interpreted.

In a very recent book on color vision and thepsychology of seeing by an eminent authority, we findthe scientific mind reveals itself as it often revealsitself in regard to things that are known theoreticallyand not by law. T he first two chapters of the book

deal with the easily known and demonstrated physiol-ogical nature and function of the eye. Chapter threebegins the serious part of the book dealing with thepsychological basis of color vision and in the firstparagraph of chapter three we read: “In this long andcomplicated path there are two points of contact(study), the psysicophysiological and the physiol-ogicpsychological. Of the former we know a little, and the elements of our knowledge have been dis-cussed in the last chapter. Of the latter we knownothing.” T hen the author proceeds to write nearly300 pages regarding that of which he admits heknows nothing.

In regard to the TellE lA marna activities in Egyptwe wish to advise our members that response to thelmperator’s suggestion in connection therewith has notbeen as complete or as prompt as was expected andthis little veiled hint is to remind you of your privilegeand opportunity at this time. Speak to your Masteior high degree members regarding this matter at once.

T he Pristine Church of the Rose Cross is being or-ganized in a number of cities, full details of which willprobably be given in our next issue. In San F ran-cisco the Church has increased in membership andnumber of attendance each Sunday and it is now thelargest spiritual, scientific, or metaphysical assemblyor congregation in the city. It has recently moved

to greater and more pleasant location in a beautifulbuilding used for civic meetings in the residentialsection of the city and a branch is being planned forO akland, the city across the bay from San Francisco.

T he Supreme G rand M aster is now located withN ational H eadquarters in San F rancisco and all com-munications for him from officers and members shouldbe addressed to this place.

Tho se interested in studying and mastering the In-ternational L anguage as presented in Cromaat A of our official handbooks will be glad to know that sincethe Armistice was signed the interest in this world-wide language has been taken up again by the variouslinguistic committees and authorities in various uni-versities and groups throughout many lands and itsuse is being widened and approved by individuals andinstitutions almost universally. Note the special an-nouncement regarding this matter somewhere in thisissue.

A n amusing incident occurred when a member of our order in Pittsburgh wrote to the Rosicrucian orderin E ngland asking for membership in that order andinquiring whether there was a branch of the AncientRosicrucian O rder in A merica. H is letter waspromptly answexed by the O rder in E ngland, and hisinquiry mailed to us to inform him that there was aL odge of the order in his city. T his in turn wasgiven to the Master of his L odge and in this wise hewas made acquainted with the fact that could havebeen answered with a telephone call in his own city.We have received from the order in E ngland recentlyenquiries from persons in various parts of the UnitedStates, including San Francisco. It shows that despitethe conservative publicity we give our. work an d theamount of literature distributed that there are manyseekers near us who do not know of us. H ave youany suggestions to make for more efficient propagandafor the benefit of such seekers.

REGARDING NEW MEMBERS

T he new plan of accepting new members by havingthem first initiated into the N ational L odge and thentransferred to local lodges after proper test and inves-tigation as voted upon by all lodges will be put intooperation by J anuary first in all jurisdictions. Most

jurisdictions have already adopted this plan and new

members are being accepted on this basis. In some jurisdictions, however, applications of candidateshave been on hand for some time under the old planand for various reasons they have not yet been in-itiated, consequently until all applications on hand inall lodges Have been cleared from their present statusthe new plan cannot be put into effect universally, butthe Imperator has issued a statement deciding that notlater than the end of this year— which means only afew months more this new method of acceptingmembers must be in general use.

HELP FOR MEMBERS

Several new books are being prepared at headquar-ters for the guidance and help of our members in themastery of their work. One is a complete dictionaryof the terms, words, symbols, phrases and principlesused in our teachings with not only complete defini-tions but cross references, examples, illustrations andindications as to what lectures and what phases of ourwork the words and terms relate and refer to. Theother book is an account of a great cosmic principleand law recently revealed and pertaining to much of our higher work and especially to the peculiar experi-

ences that members in the higher degrees are havingfrom time to time. T his latter can be presented in aninteresting story, making plain every point to ourmembers without revealing anything to those whohave not had our studies. It will no doubt be one of

the most valuable helps we have ever given to thoseof our members who are above the 7th degree.

T ime and funds are the two elements which at thepresent time prevent the issuance of these books. Athird publishing matter is in our minds at the presenttime and that is the issuance of little leaflets, one foreach degree of our work containing an abstract of the teachings of the degree in such form that themembers will understand and be able to use them hutreveal nothing to those who have not had the completelectures. 1 hese leaflets will serve in place of the tak -ing of notes at lectures and at the same time be moreaccurate and have certain cross references an d il lus-trations which the member s note books do not have.Unless we have specific help in the matter of funds forthe purpose of publishing these various hooks and

leaflets they will remain for the time being in embryo

the inner self you may find the following facts helpful in making that person realize of what little importance the physical man is: A careful analysis of the physical body of man shows that the ingredients are as follows: Fat enough for seven bars of soap, ironenough for a medium sized nail, sugar enough to fill a shaker, lime enough to whitewash a chicken coop, phosphorous enough to make 2200 match tips, magnesium enough for a dose of magnesia, potassium

enough to explode a toy cannon, sulphur enough to rid a dog of fleas. This whole collection would cost about 98 cents, even during the high war prices, and there is just enough water in the body to drown it all.

SMILES

(W ritten Specially for T he Triangle by Placidus)

Our lives are so filled with things worth while That it only behooves us to smile, smile, smile.Smiles are not things we should husband or guard For smiles will come back if smiles you discard. How little we know, as we go down life’fc.path,The great good we do with a smile or a lalt h.It will lighten the hearts of the children at play,

The sun will shine brighter that shines on that day.It will break down the fortress of cold hardened hearts, It will make things run smoother in life*s"feusy marts. It will uplift the widow bowed down by grief’s weight, It will throw off the burden placed on you by fate.So don’t try to keep them, but let them go free,And then you’ll be happy, as happy can be.

 THE FLIGHT

I held my souL within my hand,A radiant andr rfestless bird.Every irid sfcent plumeGleam rfand quivered in the gloom

Covering the silent land.Every shining feather stirred;Breast and back and crest and wingWere like jewels shimmering.

As I stood men came to meAnd said, “You mean to let him goFullpinioned? Rather clip him first,Lest from the net of night he burst,And rising in the sunlight, free,Sink not to darkness here below.”

I soothed him with a whispered word,And said, “I will not clip my bird.”

“Then bind him with an oath,” they said,“To fly but to a middle height,Lest springing up too fast and far,Lured by the magic of a star,He vanish into heaven, fledBeyond the boundary of night.”I said, “He shall go from me free;I will not bind my bird to me.

“If he but rise above the treesAnd see the stars shine clear and cold,Or, at a greater height, a streakOf sunlight on an eastern peak, Yet he will come and tell of theseVisions and wonders manifold;Or at the splendor of the sightWhirl up triumphant in full flight.

“His wings shall beat against the sun,Blaze for a moment in its fire;He shall leap beyond its lightInto the vast and starstrewn night.

Till stars have into chaos spun. Then shall the! sting of his desireSuddenly and strangely cease. In his heart shall come a peace. He shall fold his wings and rest

 Tranquilly upon God's breast.”y
