April 22-25, 2007Boise, Idaho

Welcome to CWA District 7

2

District 7 Goals

“District 7 goals are based on a vision to continue our efforts of establishing collective bargaining as the primary means of distribution of wealth and power in this country AND to establish workers rights to form unions in the United States. The program that makes up the CWA Triangle provides us the path and direction to meet this goal.

We will also strive to encompass all of our locals and members in order to create a more unified and powerful presence within our District.”

CWA Staff will be conducting a “Healthy Local Check-Up” with each of their assigned locals.” The Check-up will focus on assessing a broad number of factors that go beyond the basic items we have been focused on to date.

Staff and locals will use the tool to determine what type of additional training and resources are necessary.

We want to provide new ways for locals to interact, support each other, and use CWA’s collective power that exists in each of these geographical areas.

Continue to do targeted outreach through mailings and calling to Locals that normally do not attend the District meetings, Local Officers Training, Leadership school, and State, Regional or Council meetings.

Work with Sector Vice Presidents to develop a strategic plan to promote and increase participation in COPE, Pediatric Aids and Union to Union.

Make additional efforts to include information and updates from all of our Locals and bargaining units on the District 7 website.
