type of data center where multiple customers locate network, server and storage gear and interconnect to a variety of telecommunications and other network service provider(s) with a minimum of cost and complexity.

主机托管( Co-location)又称为主机代管,指的是将因特网服务器放到因特网服务供货商( ISP)所设立的机房(这样的机房又称为资料中心),每月支付必要费用,由 ISP代为管理。主机的管理者可从远程联机入服务器做管理。

主机代管可让服务器的管理者,省去兴建机房、申请数据线路、机房管理等费用及麻烦。
