DESCRIPTION

An Easter sermon presented April 4, 2010, at Palm Desert Church of Christ by Dale Wells

TRANSCRIPT

Luke 24

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them,

"Why do you look for the living among the dead?

He is not here; he has risen!

Past, Present & Future

It Touches

Our Past

It Touches

Our Present

It Touches

Our Future

Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

Jesus said to her, “Your brother shall rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will

rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the

life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and every-one who lives and believes in Me shall never die.”

It Gives Us An

Eternal Hope

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a

living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is

imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.

But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffer-ed the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish in order that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him,

not having a righteousness of my own derived from law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, that I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

There Is No Hope Apart

From It

Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not

been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. Moreover, we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we witnessed against God that He has raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised.

For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.

If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.

We Are Raised Up By

His Grace
