WATERWater that has no impurity is called pure waterPure water is a very important constituent of foodEvery cell in our body contains about 90% of waterNecessary to maintain the fluidity of blood, digestion, excretion, maintaining body tempUsed for washing, cooking etc

WATERPurest form of water is distilled water - used for daily life activities , preparation of medicines

Second form of pure water is rainwater after the first few showers-can be used like distilled water

Water form deep wells is also quite pure but water from taps and tanks must be purified before storing and utilisation.

Impurities in water are of different forms and kinds

IMPURITIES OF WATERWhen water flows from hills into plains it carries finely divided clay, sand , mineral particles, animal & veg matter, refuse from houses ,factories in suspended form as impuritiesImpurities - either organic or inorganicPresence of sulphates, chlorides, bicarbonates of calcium, magnesium and iron make water hard

Salts cause certain diseases like gall , kidney stones & goitre 

IMPURITIES OF WATERHard seawater causes diarrhoea

Water stored in tanks & ponds - very harmful - gets contaminated by sewage & other refuses generally accumulated by washing clothes and animals

Water stored in pitchers also gets contaminated by germs if not cleaned regularly
