1.1 Important safety instructionsTo ensure personal safety, it is important to follow these safety instructions. These instructions must be kept. à Only specialists authorised by GEZE are permitted to carry out installation, commissioning and maintenance
work. à Unauthorised modifications to the system release GEZE from liability for any resulting damages. à GEZE makes no guarantee for combinations with third-party products. In addition, only original GEZE parts
may be used for repair and maintenance work. à Connection to the mains voltage must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Perform the power connection
and equipment earth conductor test in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610. à The customer must install a circuit breaker as a mains separator, whose rated value is aligned to the type,
profile, method of installation and the ambient conditions of the local power supply line. However, the circuit breaker must offer fuse protection of at least 4 A.
Swing door drive as locking device in accordance with DIN 18263-4 à In the event of a fire alarm, fault or manual release, the locking of the swing door drive must be released, the
falling lock latch release (electric strike based on the working current principle) must be blocked and all signal transmitters to open the door leaves must be disabled.
à The swing door drives may only be used on single-leaf and double-leaf doors if the door frame or, as the case may be, the fixed leaf of the double-leaf doors is equipped with an electric strike that unlocks the lock latch and/or a safety catch with a spring-loaded latch.
à Permitted installation types: à Transom installation opposite hinge side with link arm (1 leaf / 2 leaves) à Transom installation hinge side with roller guide rail (1 leaf / 2 leaves)
1.2 Installation details à The drive is only designed for use in dry rooms. X Only use the cables prescribed in the cable plan provided. Install shields in accordance with the wiring dia-
gram. X Always use insulated wire-end ferrules for wire cores. X Insulate the wires that are unused. X Secure loose, internal drive cables with cable ties. X Observe the maximum permitted overall current drain required to supply the periphery.
1.3 Safe operation X Secure the workplace against unauthorised entry. X Watch the swivelling range of long system parts. X Secure the cover/drive shrouding against falling. X Before working on the electrical system, disconnect the power supply (mains and battery) and check that no
voltage is present. Note that if an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is used, the system will still be supplied with power despite the fact that the power supply is disconnected.
à Risk of injury by moving parts (drawing in of hair, clothing, ...) when a drive is opened. à Risk of injury caused by unsecured crushing, impact, drawing-in or shearing spots. à Risk of injury caused by sharp edges in the drive. à Risk of injury due to glass breakage. à For EMD-F and EMD Invers:
DANGERSerious injuries due to link arm or lever arm snapping back!
X Separate the motor from the control unit only when spring is relaxed. X Do not disconnect the motor. X Operate the drive only with a connected latching action switch.
1.4 Inspection of installed system X Check the measures for securing or preventing crushing, impact, shearing or pull-in spots. X Check the function of the presence sensors and movement detectors. X Check the protective earth connection to all metal parts that can be touched. X Check the correct rotary transducer setting (see chapter 20, “Motor”).

Safety sensor, open and close
4 Safety sensor, open and close X In the case of 2-leaf systems connect the safety sensors of the active leaf with the active leaf control unit and
those of the fixed leaf with the fixed leaf control unit. X Install the sensor for monitoring closing on the door leaf, opposite hinge side.
If the SIS is activated during closing, the door reverses and opens again. X Install the sensor for monitoring opening on the door leaf, hinge side.
If the SIO is activated during opening, the door stops. On detection the sensor output is open (GND applied to SIS or SIO input).
X Check function and correct setting of the sensors during commissioning and when servicing the assembly. The behaviour of the door when the SIS and SIO safety sensors are triggered can be set in the service menu.If a wall or similar object is located in the door's open position, the SIO's wall blanking range is automatically set during the teaching process. The range can be changed via the service menu, where necessary. In the case of 2-leaf drives, the active and fixed leaves stop when opening if one of the SIO safety sensors is trig-gered. If parameter f3 “SI3 - terminal SIS, "SI3 function" is set to 06 "SIO SF-GF", the wall blanking is not consid-ered.
To correct the wall blanking range X Set parameter aB, "SI3 - terminal SIS, "SI3 wall blanking range" to the desired value
(1 % … 99 % of the maximum opening angle, 0 = no wall blanking)

10 Push And Go
WARNINGRisk of injury due to crushing and shearing!
X During an activated Push And Go function door handles can form potential danger points.
à The Push And Go function allows activation of the drive without contact sensors being used. à When the Push And Go function is set, the drive opens the door automatically as soon as the door leaf is
moved manually out of the closed position. à The opening angle for the use of the automatic opening function can be set (1–20 % of the max. opening
angle). à The hold-open time for Push And Go can be set separately (0-60 s).
An opening angle that is set too close can result in undesired automatic opening of the door.
à To operate the display programme switch DPS see chapter 24.3, “Display programme switch (DPS)”. à To operate the service terminal ST220 see chapter 24.2, “Service menu ST220”.
The state of the drive to which the ST220 is connected is displayed. X Press the key. X Select "Active leaf para" or "Fixed leaf para" using the or key and press the key.

FunctionThe control unit recognises the operating function "Toilet control" based on the parameter set for the configur-able input (PE1, PE2). If the WC is not occupied, the door is in operating mode ‘automatic’ and is in the closed position. The OCCUPIED signs are off. When the "external pushbutton" is activated, the WC door is opened. Once someone has entered the cubicle, the WC door is switched to operating mode shop closing by pressing the "internal pushbutton" and the external pushbutton is blocked. The OCCUPIED signs light up. The WC door is locked by the electric strike closed current*). Pressing the "Internal pushbutton" again switches the operating mode back to automatic. The OCCUPIED signs go out. The door opens and the "external pushbutton" is released once again. When the WC is monitored for permanent locking, the "WC alarm" signal is triggered after 30 minutes and an acoustic signal (signal horn) is switched on. The time cannot be set.In an emergency, the WC door can be opened from the outside using the authorised contact sensor (KB). In the event of a power failure, the electric strike closed current is released and the door can be opened manually.*) Lock with a panic motor lock is also possible (optional)
Illuminated display OCCUPIEDThe OCCUPIED illuminated display (PA1 or PA2) is activated when switching to the shop closing operating mode.

RWA emergency power control unit on EMD-Invers
17 RWA emergency power control unit on EMD-Invers à The RWA emergency power control unit is connected to the DCU204 PCB. à In the event of a fire alarm or power failure the electric strike and motor are disconnected from the control
unit. The door opens with spring force. In case of 2-leaf doors both leaves open. The opening speed cannot be adjusted.
à Before commissioning and during servicing, the function of the braking circuit has to be checked with a deen-ergized drive by manually closing the door. In the closing direction, only the spring acts as a brake. From the closed position, the door must open by means of the spring force with a slower speed.
à A reset pushbutton cannot be connected to the DCU204 PCB. à After the alarm or fresh air state has been cancelled, the drive changes back to normal operation immediately. à The DCU204 can also be connected to a terminal 1 (GND) and a terminal 2 (24 V) of the DCU200 instead of to
the alarm output of an RWA emergency power control unit.

21 Door closer operation
If frail people and/or children use the door and the risk analysis states that appropriate safety measures must be selected, the "Door closer mode“ (Ts) parameter must be set to 0 or 1 and the "Door closing torque" (Df) param-eter must be set to 0.
In the automatic, low energy and servo modes of operation, the behaviour of the drive can be set so that its func-tion corresponds to a door closer. To do so, set the "Door closer mode" parameter (Ts) in the service menu to the desired behaviour in the door closer operation.

Basic functions
22 Basic functions
22.1 Automatic mode
à For automatic mode, the door leaf's hinge and opposite hinge side must be secured with safety devices (safety sensor strips) in accordance with DIN 18650 and EN 16005.
The drive opens and closes the door automatically after activation with the speeds, hold-open times and func-tions set during commissioning. à Parameter setting with
à DPS: Set Ba "Operating mode" to 01 (automatic mode). à ST220: Set "Door parameters", "Operating mode" to “Auto operation".
22.2 Low energy mode
à No additional safety devices are usually needed for doors that have been set to low-energy mode. à In the case of 2-leaf doors both drives must have been set to low-energy mode.
The EMD and EMD-F drives can be operated as low energy drives, if the following conditions are satisfied: à Static force on the primary closing edge is <67 N. à The hold-open time is preset to 5 s. à The kinetic energy in the door leaf has to be limited to 1.6 J. To do so, set the opening and closing time as
described in chapter “22.2.3 Setting the minimum opening time and minimum closing time”. à In a deenergized state the force needed to open at the primary closing edge is <67 N.
X If frail people and/or children use the door, the "Door closer mode" (Ts) parameter must be set to 0 (manual) or 1 (automatic) and the "Door closing torque" (Df) parameter must be set to 0.
22.2.1 Setting the low energy mode X For drives with mechanical closing sequence control, disable the closing sequence control for commissioning. X In the case of 2-leaf drives, perform the settings for the active leaf control unit (GF) and the fixed leaf control
unit (SF) separately, as described in chapter “Commissioning and service”. X Perform the following settings for every control unit:
à Set the "Operating mode" (Ba) parameter to "Low energy" (02). à When setting the low energy mode, the values of the following parameters are automatically limited to the
values permitted for low energy, if the value currently set is prohibited. Values with permitted settings are not changed.
Value Limitation
Opening speed 14
Closing speed 45
Manual speed 45
Acceleration opening 40
Acceleration closing 45
Opening force 40 Nm

22.3 Servo modeThe EMD-F drive can be operated as a servo drive.Parameter setting:
à DPS: Set Ba to 03 for "Servo mode". à ST220: Set the "Operating mode" to "Servo mode".
à The servo function is only available for the EMD-F.
The servo mode is divided into 3 functional areas à Servo support à Servo function without fire alarm à Servo function with fire alarm
Servo supportIn Servo mode, the drive operation is power-assisted - it compensates the spring force. The door is easier to move manually. The door does not open automatically, the safety sensor "open" is without function. The servo function is started by activating KI, KA, KB, by switching to the DO operating mode or by manually opening until you reach the set servo start angle. The door remains open in the position set by hand. If an actuation signal (KI, KA, KB, SIS) is no longer active and the operating mode is not set to DO, the door closes automatically after the set hold-open time.
Servo function without fire alarmThe drive provides support when manually opening the door and compensates for the spring closing force. The adjustable door opening torque (additional servo torque) lets the drive move the door in the opening direction at a slower speed. The following parameters have an influence on this function: à Servo duration (aD)
à Duration of the servo support from activation. à Additional servo torque (aO)
à Opening torque in addition to the spring compensation. The drive opens the door with the set additional servo torque when activated. The drive closes the door upon expiration of the set servo duration (aD).The servo support is active after activation (KI, KA, KB) or from the servo start angle when the Push And Go func-tion is set.
à The additional servo torque (aO) must be set for the low energy mode. à SIO is not evaluated when opening. The drive pushes against the obstacle with the set additional servo torque.
EMD / EMD-F / EMD-F-IS / EMD-F/R / EMD Invers

Basic functions
Servo function with fire alarm
à Building approval is required for each individual case when using the function on fire protection doors. à The drive must be supplied by a safety power supply provided by the customer, or an uninterruptible power
supply (UPS). à Only manually operated control elements (e.g. pushbuttons, contact mats) are permitted. X Connect smoke switches GC 151 or GC 161 to the drive as described in chapter 18 “EMD-F, EMD-FIS, EMD-F/R
on fire protection doors”. à Permitted installation types:
à Transom installation opposite hinge side with link arm (1 leaf / 2 leaves) à Transom installation hinge side with roller guide rail (1 leaf / 2 leaves)
Function:The servo function with fire alarm applies for fire protection doors installed in stairwells and those in the building which open as escape route doors in the direction of the stairwell in the event of a fire alarm. The air overpressure in the stairwell, which keeps the stairwell free of smoke, makes it more difficult to open the door. The servo function with fire alarm supports the door drive in opening the door against the positive air pres-sure in the stairwell if it is activated via pushbuttons KI, KA or KB. A fire alarm in the building is forwarded to the drive via a 24V "Fire alarm" signal at input PE1 or PE2.
In the event of a fire in the direct vicinity of the door, the smoke switch installed in the door area triggers a shut-down of the drive motor and the electric strike. In this case, the door closes by spring force. The door can then only be opened manually, without force support by the drive.
The reset pushbutton connection (connect RES to DCU201) must consequently be bypassed. X Connect terminals 62 and 61 to the DCU201 with DCU200 terminals 2 and 1. X Terminal 62 (RSZ 24V) with terminal 2 (24V), terminal 61 (RSZ GND) with terminal 1 (GND).
