IMPORTANT NOTES!• Please read pages 3-8 of this document for

information about the certification process for junior officials. Then follow the instructions on pages 9-23 to log into your USAV Webpoint account and register for the related Junior Officiating Modules.

IMPORTANT NOTES!

• NO CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION is emailed to you after viewing the course.

• The OVR will rely on each team and club to ensure its players are properly educated in the responsibilities of support crew/work team duties.

• Professional referees are available for in-person training/certification clinics for teams or clubs. Contact Brian Hemelgarn(Hemelgarn@ovr.org), OVR Referees’ Chair.

IMPORTANT NOTES!

• If you will keep score or work as second referee for your team, you must complete the respective courses for each of those; see pages 5-7. NOTE: Scorers should also complete the Libero Control module.

• If you will be the Libero tracker or will work as a line judge for your team, you must complete the respective courses for each of those; see page 8.

JUNIOR SECOND REFEREE MODULES

• US18_102q - Junior Second Referee (w/quiz) Runtime: ~23 min.

• US18_103q - Junior Signals (w/quiz) Runtime: ~16 min.

The following modules should be completed to be certified as a junior second referee:

JUNIOR SCORER –REFRESHER MODULES

• US18_105q - Libero Control (w/quiz) Runtime: ~16 min.

• US18_108 - Basic Scoring Example Runtime: ~6 min.

• US18_109 - Basic Scoring Example – Deciding Set Runtime: ~5 min.

If you were certified as a junior scorer last season, the following modules, at a minimum,should be completed to be certified as a junior scorer this season:

NEW JUNIOR SCORER MODULES

• US18_105q - Libero Control (w/quiz) Runtime: ~16 min.

• US18_106q - Scoring Basics Non-deciding Set Runtime: ~25 min.

• US18_107 - Scoring – Deciding Set Runtime: ~7 min.

If this is the first time you are being certified as a junior scorer, or if it has been more than two seasons since your last certification, the following modules, at a minimum, should be completed to be certified as a junior scorer:

JUNIOR LINE JUDGE & LIBERO TRACKER MODULES

• US18_101q - Line Judge Essentials Runtime: ~10 min.

• US18_105q - Libero Control (w/quiz) Runtime: ~16 min.

We recommend that ALL junior players complete the line judge and Libero tracker modules. The OVR and USAV do not certify line judges or Libero trackers, but training for each position is important to officiating a match.

Log in to the USAV Webpoint membership database at https://Webpoint.usavolleyball.org. Use the same username/password that you used when you registered as a USAV member.

Find “Region Clinics” in the menu on the left and click onthe + (plus) sign to expand themenu.

Click on “Region Ref/Score Clinics” in the menu on the left. The list of available clinics will appear in the middle of the page under Ohio Valley Region Clinics.

Find the clinic named “OVR Officiating for JUNIOR PLAYERS –OV18_101” in the list of available clinics and then click on the “+Participant Registration” button.

The Individual Registration Information near the bottom of the page should “auto-fill” with your name, address, etc. If all information is correct, click the red “SUBMIT” button at the bottom of the page.

This is the registration confirmation page. If any of the “Participant Information” is incorrect, use the “edit” button to correct it.Then click the “Register” button at the bottom.

On the Registration Confirmationpage, click “OK” when the pop-up appears to confirm that your registration has been processed.Now scroll to the bottom of the page.

https://webpoint.usavolleyball.orgAt the bottom of the Registration Confirmationpage, there is a red button – “Log into USAV Academy”. Click this button and a new window will open for the USAV Academy. In the Academy, you will be able to review the online clinic modules you just registered for.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

Now that you have registered for the Junior Officiating Training Modules, to access them in the future, you must first log in to your Webpoint account, and then click either of the red USAV Academy buttons. This will take you directly to the Academy. DO NOT RE-REGISTER FOR THE MODULES.

In the USAV Academy, all of the training modules will be listed under Learning Activities in your account.

You must view “OV18_101 OV Officiating Training for Junior Players Introduction” before viewing any of the other modules.

A pop-up window will appear with your module, ready to play. Click the “NEXT” button to advance to each slide.

Completed courses will appear at the bottom of your My Account page. NO Certificate of Completion is awarded for these modules.

REPEAT THESE STEPS FOR EACH MODULE YOU VIEW.

1. I WILL NOT harass or intimidate the officials, including line judges and scorers.

2. I WILL NOT participate in any game or game-like activities unless I have a current membership with USA Volleyball.

3. I WILL NOT bring and/or carry any firearms at any USA Volleyball event.

4. I WILL NOT bring, purchase, or consume alcohol at any Youth/Junior volleyball event.

Page 21, 2017-2019 Domestic Competition Regulations

In addition to the USA Volleyball Spectator/Parent Code of Conduct, the Ohio Valley Region has a “zero tolerance” policy when it comes to spectator conduct at local and Regional events. By entering a facility to attend an OVR-USAV sanctioned event, all spectators agree to abide by OVR and USAV Codes of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in removal from the facility.

OHIO VALLEY REGIONSPECTATOR/PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

• After completing the respective online modules, you will need final evaluation on-court by a professional certified referee to become certified as a junior second referee or scorer. Line judges and Libero trackers do not receive an on-court evaluation or certification.
