(Crash Course)

• Multiple experience.• Encourage students to

help redirect students work

• Consult…..don’t teach.

• Student defines concept• Ask for justification

(evidence) from students• Formally supplies

definitions, explanations, and new labels

• Use students previous experiences as a basis for explaining concepts

Elaborate (Accommodation)

• Extend new concepts into new situations (H.O.T.S.)

• Students begin to use formal labels

• Multiple experiences

• Ask open ended question. (“Why do you think….?”)

• Require students to use data to respond to questions.

• Allow students to assess their own learning.
