politics and what role do families, schools and media play in the changing or perpetuating of these political beliefs?

• How have political parties developed, how are they organized, and what effect do they have on the political process?

Republican Voters Tend To: *Live in the Midwest or South and in rural and suburban areas. Generally speaking the farther one gets

from urban centers (cities) the more likely a person is to find a large number of Republican voters

“Rural”

Republican Voters Tend To: *Be White. 91% of those who voted for Mitt Romney in 2012 were white BUT President Obama won every OTHER racial group by a two-to-one margin or greater

Republican Voters Tend To: *Be against spending large sums on social-welfare programs. Republicans feel that aid

programs create a culture of dependency in which the poor become reliant on the government instead of themselves

Republican Voters Tend To: *Believe in tax cuts for ALL AMERICANS including the upper class and large corporations. Republicans believe

progressive tax rates punish the rich for their success and instead support a “flat tax” based on a set percentage

most environmental regulations
