A Different Type of Light Bulb

Sitting down to do some homework at my desk I reached over to turn my lamp on and

“POP” the light bulb just burnt out.

All I could think was great, now what am I going to do.

I need a lamp to be able to see my work on the desk.

I looked at the light bulb and say it was a three way 40/60/100w bulb.

I checked my apartment but I could not find a spare.

It was already very late and I need to get my work done by morning.

So I only had one place to go and that was Wal-Mart.

I forgot to bring the burnt out bulb with me to check the sizing so I just grabbed a three

way bulb that looked similar.

Once I got home I found out that the bulb was the correct wattage but the wrong size.

At this point I am getting tired and a little angry, but I need to get my work done.

Another trip to Wal-Mart and I have to correct bulb.

Wrong Color Light Bulb

It fit right into the lamp and powered right on.

The only thing now was I guess I got the wrong color of bulb.

Instead of the bulb being the daylight white it was a yellowish warm white.

Since it was so late I didn’t mind and put up with the coloring to get my work done.

I prefer the daylight color because it is more of a white color without any yellow.

The warm light bulb is that classic yellowish tint that everyone is use to.

Personally I think the daylight white color is easier on my eyes, but everyone has

different preferences.

The Type of Colors a Light Bulb Can Be

There are 3 main types of white that a light bulb can be.

The first is warm white (2500k – 3000k) suggested to be used in bedrooms, living

rooms, or dens.

The second is bright white or cool white (3500k – 4100k) suggested to be used in kitchens, workspaces, and bathrooms.

The third is daylight (5000k – 6000k) suggested to be used for reading.

Now there are colored light bulbs as well.

They are mainly used for decorations like holidays, parties, or events.

CFL VS LED Light Bulb

There is a slight color difference between a CFL and a LED light bulb.

The LED is a little brighter than a CFL and lasts about twice as long.

There are many other differences between the two, but I will go over that another time.
