neighborhood

• Create a mixed-use community that can sustain mall long-term while enhancing surrounding area

• Provide flexibility in design

Yorktown Center - Redevelopment

• Two past workshop sessions before the Plan Commission in 2015

Making Economic Development Happen

Economic Incentive Policy • Implements Economic Strategies Report

• Provides Framework and Policies for Providing Development Incentives

• Holistic Approach – Not one approach is appropriate

• Provides a “kit-bag” of options that can be readily shared with the development community

Currently being reviewed by Village’s ECDC with Village Board consideration before end of 2015

Facilitating Development

Building code amendments to reflect trends in construction and market conditions • Construction Type

• 2011 National Electric Code

• State Plumbing Code & Local Amendments

These amendments address development concerns raised by the development community and can lead to projects becoming economically viable

Did You Know?

Lombard is a low cost community to get a project started

• Amended codes reduce construction costs (up to 30% in some cases)

• No development/impact fees

• Fee schedule is comparable and competitive with other communities

• “High-Touch” 24/7 mentality toward development

• The Village provides more “value-added” resources than most communities

Making Economic Development: Resources

Many resources available to assist existing and prospective businesses
