abstract unit plan

My unit plan will be covering the time before North America was colonized, to the beginning of

the American Revolution. I will be teaching an 8th grade class, with a majority of caucasian and

african americans. We will be utilizing several technological resources such as Zello, Facebook,

Youtube, Webquests, and Blogger. Classroom discussion is a major component of my

classroom, as my students will often write blogs or listen to podcasts outside of class to discuss

them in class. I appreciate student creation as well, as some assignments involve my students

role playing as characters from the era and writing a diary in a blog, and making posters that

would exist in the era. Overall, my students will be involved in a variety of activities that hit all

of the major learning areas. By the end of the week, 85% of my students will demonstrate a

mastery of Colonial history through doing the assignments listed in my Unit Plan.
