Company and Industry Information Journal Finder

Use the Journal Finder :

• When you already know what article you are looking for

• If you want to see if the library owns a specific publication

Journal Finder

• Enter the name of the journal• Click “Search” OR• Use the “Browse” feature to find a publication

• Locate your publication• Check the years covered in the database• Click on the name of the database

• Enter a portion of the article’s title • Click “Run Search”

• Remove any checkmarks in the “Exclude” section

• Click the article’s title to access the complete document• You can email, print, and save document

• Click on Business – CGPS to access suggested research resources

• Enter a company name or ticker symbol• Click “Search”

• Use the Tabs to navigate to different company data• Use “Company Financials”, “Annual Reports”, or “EDGAR” to access company financial details

• Click the “EDGAR” tab to search for 10-K reports and other SEC filings• Click on the icons to retrieve full text documents

• Perform a “Company Dossier” search

• Enter your company name or ticker symbol

• You can search for private or public companies

• Click “Search”

• Click the name of your company when it appears

• Under “Company Type”, note the differences for parent vs. subsidiary, and public vs. private companies

• Use the Reports menu to locate additional information on a company

• Click “Financial Information” for financial details

• You can download, print, or email any portion of the financial data

• Under the “Business” subject area, you can search for SEC reports

• Using the menu on the left, click “SEC Filings”

• Enter a company name, ticker symbol, or keyword to retrieve full text SEC filings

• Use “Sources” to search for a specific SEC form

• Limit your searches by time period

: Accounting

• Also under the “Business” subject area is an “Accounting” option

• Search through a variety of full text accounting publications

• Search by keyword

• Select your Sources

• Enter your keywords

• Consider using some of the “Limit your results” options

• Click “Search”

• Click “PDF” or “HTML” links to retrieve articles

• Click “Locate Journal Article” if not full text through the database

• Limit your results further by using the options on the search results page

• Use the database links to locate article.

• To request this article, click the ILLIAD links.

What if my materials are at the main campus Library? What if UMW doesn’t have what I need?

Use Illiad to request materials not located at the CGPS Library Create an online Illiad Account Submit requests through Libraries’ website Request books, articles, dissertations Delivered online or to the CGPS Library $2 fee for articles located at Simpson Library

Illiad: document delivery and interlibrary loan

• Try different databases

• Try different keywords

• Use an “asterisk” for multiple word endings - *

• Phrase Searching - quotation marks

• Avoid stop words like: in, an, of, for, on, by

• Ask Librarians for assistance
