The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs
dreamers who do.- Sarah Ban Breathnach
What are your dreams ?
Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe. - Gail Devers
List down your dreams
Long term
Short term
Write them down
A dream is a goal with out actions
• Dreams needs to be converted as Goals– You need to turn your dreams into action. – Goals make the visions of your dreams– Have long term goals and short term goals
• Goals should be based on what you think you should be doing not what you ‘like’ to do.
• Most of our goals are based on external factors – your company, advertisements, or ‘your family’
Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. - Tony Robbins
Goals
• Goals not met with commitment, passion or foundation are never met.
• Write them down• Break them down to smaller goals• Look at them on a particular interval• Review and revise the goals• Share the goals
What keeps me going is goals - Muhammad Ali
SMART Goals
Specific
• Do you know exactly what you want to accomplish with all the details.
• Decide on Six ‘W’s– Who accomplishes– What to accomplish– Where – When – Which (are the things holding you back)– Why (accomplish this goal)
Measurable
• Are you able to measure your progress ?• What is not measured is never improved.
Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should have
accomplished with your ability.
Achievable
• Is your goal with in your reach given your current situation?– Attitude– Abilities– Skills– Financial Capability
Relevant / Realistic
• Is your goal relevant towards your purpose in your life ?
• Is it relevant for a greater goal?
Time bound
• What is the deadline for completing your goal
When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action
steps. – Confucius
• Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there• Don't be a time manager, be a priority manager. Cut your
major goals into bite-sized pieces. Each small priority or requirement on the way to ultimate goal become a mini goal in itself.
