“”

I never thought I would experience severe anxiety. But thanks to modern medicine, I can live a somewhat normal life. I’m grateful to the doctors and drug companies who have made this possible.

#ADAAis35ADAA is my professional home. Its commitment to member interests and to community building is unparalleled. Carmela Alcantara, PhD

#ADAAis35

You have to want to change. Treatment alone can’t make you change, and you have to apply what you learn to

succeed in the “real” world outside of treatment.

“”

ADAA has given me access to training in evidenced-based treatments, which gave me the confidence to open my own practice. And it provided me with the opportunity to train other clinicians so that fewer people suffer with the devastating effects of anxiety and depression. I have met some of my best friends and colleagues through ADAA. Thank you! Kimberly Morrow, LCSW

#ADAAis35 P.S. You’re not going to die. Here’s the white-hot truth: If you go bankrupt, you'll still be okay. If you

lose the gig, the lover, the house, you'll still be okay. If you sing off-key, get the beat by the competition;

have your heart shattered, get fired...it’s not going to kill you. Ask

anyone who’s been through it.

Jonathan Lammers

1980: My first panic attack. There was no name for it or much information. I recouped with help from God and my family.

2014: My second panic attack with a topping of depersonalization just for fun. God, my family and friends, my doctor, and a therapist and your website helped me this time. I still wrestle with it. But with information from ADAA and others, I know the big difference is that I am not alone and in time I’ll be OK. #ADAAIS35
