Course Description

•This course introduces the students to the detailed working design, focusing on the various finishing materials; for floors, ceilings, and walls. The course also deals with the special finishes, like Curtain Walls, facings and claddings for the external skin of the building, different types of light partitions

Course Aim:

• This course aims to introduce the students to the detailed working design, focusing on various finishing materials; for floors, ceilings, and walls. The course also deals with the special finishes, like Curtain Walls, facings and claddings for the external skin of the building, different types of light partitions.

• The course takes the form of a practical workshop in which the Students study the architectural and technical properties of different finishing materials. The course also consists of excursions during which students will have an opportunity to study the Finishing materials industry.

A- Knowledge & Understanding:• a.1 Define the concepts, methods and techniques of the

structural design, constructional and engineering problems associated with building design.

• a.2 Understand the carpentry techniques. • a.3 Collect data about types of materials used in the

finishing ; for floors, ceilings, walls and partitions. • a.4 Describe all preliminary and design, working

drawings and details of architectural, External knowledge will also introduce students to diverse viewpoints on the use of finishing materials that emphasis the innovative architectural, artistic and perhaps also the economic aspects.
