Organizational chart and processes Our organizational Chart is as below:
Nature and Extent of involvement of Faculty and students in academic affairs/improvements
Initiatives taken to inculcate the spirit of research amongst faculty and students are as follows:
The Institute has been concentrating in Education, Training & Research on Information &
Communication Technologies and IT-enabled Services. These are globally recognized as emergent areas of rapid growth. Graduates will have ample opportunity for employment in all these areas. The Institute is
committed to developing excellence in education, training and research. Institutionalized attempts are
being made to promote in developing knowledge skills in all students and commitment to values in
faculty and staff. Facilities such as flexibility in timings, use of laboratories etc. are extended to faculty as per requirement. Institute encourage experienced faculty to apply for research and Increasing faculty and
student publications by providing financial assistance. Institute also encourage student to develop
software for institute and other.Institute emphasizes on course preparation, lecture, tutorial and laboratory
delivery, assessment and obtaining feedback. This is undertaken through specific lectures by senior colleagues, followed up by ‘demo sessions’ and participation in coordinated work groups. The faculty
focuses on developing and strengthening systems thinking, problem solving, analysis, design, team work,
communication skills and preparing students for lifelong learning. The faculty uses innovative techniques, interactive lectures, guided case studies, literature survey, regular lab assignments, project work and
critical and creative thinking. The faculty stresses on learner centric, active and collaborative learning.
Labs are used for developing skills to use and apply various general professional competences. Each Department lays down Departmental visions, objectives and roles in shaping the profile of the graduates.
These are discussed, validated and converted in curricula and teaching practice to achieve the desired
goals.Students are encouraged to explore the environment through participation in professional /
curricular / co-curricular activities outside the Institute.System of student mentoring has been put in place. Feedback is analyzed at Departmental levels as also during meetings of various forums to imbibe and
include new and valid suggestions.
To explore the talent other than academic, institute encourages flexibility, celebration and recognition of
student. This is achieved through annual cultural, technical fests, various events, parties, treks, outings and other spontaneous activities to maintain high levels of enthusiasm and team integration. Focusing on
technical, literary, sports, and cultural competitive activities, apart from serving as a retreat from intense
academic loads, these extracurricular activities presents with an opportunity this builds confidence,
encourages teamwork and gives students a strong sense of achievement and belonging.
Mechanism/ Norms and Procedure for democratic/ good Governance Transparency of thoughts, awareness on ongoing activities and timely address of complications &
misunderstanding between internal stakeholders, we believe, is the key for smooth running of any
organization. Firstly, in order to encourage transparency of thoughts, the management schedules periodic
meetings, which could be departmental or one to one, to analyze and understand employees’ points of
view. As a result of such interaction, new ideas are generated and developed for the institution’s
betterment. The formation and active involvement of the Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) is a
testament to this vision. The management is also particular about an ‘open-door policy’ wherein, if need
be, employees/ students/ guests get to discuss matters directly with the management authority.
The students, academic & non-academic staffs are duly kept informed of the proceedings and activities of
the college from time to time by notification through notices/ circulars/ website uploads. Apart from this,
the Examination committee, the Cultural committee, Sports Committee etc are formed in order to notify
the rest about the scheduled examinations or upcoming events pertaining to each. The distribution of roles
also motivates employees and makes them consider themselves as an integral part of the whole system.
Finally, to address intricate issues or grievances, committees and cells as Grievance Redressal Committee,
Anti-Ragging Committee, SC/ST Committee, Disciplinary Committee etc have been endowed with the
power and responsibility to address such issues without compromising on the confidentiality
aspect.Besides, for day to day supervision and maintenance of college activities, Library Committee,
Website & Internet Committee, NSS/ Health Committee, Training & Placement Committee and the likes
play crucial roles.
Student Feedback on Institutional Governance/ Faculty performance Alumni Feedback is taken from Alumni for the academic year. The analysis helped the institute in
development of curriculum for ‘Autonomy’.
Feedback about Faculty is taken from students once a semester. The various parameters on which
teaching is assessed are:
• Communication Skills,
• Quality of Teaching/ Academic input,
• Subject Knowledge,
• Content and Method of Delivery,
• Resourcefulness,
• Readiness of teacher,
• Accessibility and Availability of Teacher in Campus/ Department.
Feedback is signed by the Director and conveyed to the faculty by respected Head of the Department.
An Institute level Parent-Teacher meeting is conducted once every semester. During the meeting, parents
are made aware about their wards’ attendance, academic performance for the semester as well as about
the various learning processes conducted in the institute.
Grievance Redressal mechanism for Faculty, staff and students The Grievance Redressal Cell will enquire the grievances and suggest the final action to be initiated at the
institutional level for the redressal of the same. Any student may approach the committee members, if
he/she has any grievance regarding academic and non-academic matters and the committee will take up
necessary action
The students approach the Cell to voice their grievances regarding academic and non academic matters.
The cell redresses the grievances at individual and class level and grievances of common interest. All
complaints are scrutinized by the management and the Grievance Redressal cell. HoD/Principal/Director
regularly attends to these on daily basis. The college assures students that once a complaint is made, it
will be treated with confidentiality.
Besides there is an exclusive mechanism to address the issues relating to women and their grievances.
Objectives:
• To provide a support system for the students to address their grievances.
• To initiate proactive measures to redress the grievances of the students.
• To analyze the complaints and representations of aggrieved students and to take action with the
appropriate authorities for redressal.
• To get suggestions periodically from the students for improvement.
Type of Grievance
1. Physically or mental harassment of staff/student
2. Working culture of staff/student
3. Welfare Measure of staff/student
4. Feedback in both academic and non-academic.
5. Safety Measure of staff/student.
The complaint management mechanism is carried out in three levels in the institution
• The departmental level grievances are attended by the concerned class Coordinators, Mentors and
Departmental Heads.
• The student coordinators and staff coordinators of Grievance Redressal cell act as facilitators to communicate and sort out the grievances at the department level.
• Unresolved grievances at the departmental level and association level are referred to the
Grievance Redressal Cell of the institution. The students can approach the Grievance Redressal Cell of the institution with their complaints of common interest too. Depending on the seriousness
of the problem, the issues are settled by the Cell or by the Principal/ Director in consultation with
other members of the management, parents and faculty.

2015-2016 20. Best Practices adopted, if any
Our college aims at revamping and legitimizing students advancing from varied practices ranging from
deadbeat sections to prosperous ones. One of the best practices of our college is “In Service of
Humanity”. It facilitates dignity, delight and honor in serving mankind. Humanity, a term that serves the
society on a whole not only in terms of imparting exemplary technical knowledge but also in developing their personality, charisma and humanity on a whole to be engineers who serve the society for the
humankind. We explore the potential of the bards through infinite ways of their augmentation and self
glory.
We adopt practices like Imparted learning, using power-point presentations to help them organize their
thinking process and build professional skills, using audio-visual aides (such as screening of films and
plays, displaying paintings, photographs etc.), We adopt experts in certain given fields and promoting
wellbeing through the activities such as G@MIET or rigorous physical activity endorses a student
centric, self-directing apprenticeship. Through constructive feedback, open communication, with
adoption of quality maintaining practices like quality circles within faculty and staff we inculcate
a culture of critical thinking and holding an array of in-depth discussions, for the evaluation, betterment of the college on a whole. The college has managed to uplift its most underprivileged
members to be more self-reliant, career oriented role models.
The teaching culture here features its climax, and thereby have the students appreciated that the true essence of life lies outside the bounds of black and white, and in a wide varieties of shades. We firmly
believe that knowledge is infinite and education is the search of life. Seminars on various technical topics
and even on Ethical values by the faculties of MIET and also from external expertise are often adopted. Practice such as appreciating text is to enable students to draw life-world reflected in the text. The
students learn to think beyond right-wrong, profit-loss, abnormal-normal, beautiful-ugly and start an
educative experience on range not limited by these extremities.
This is also possible through the individualized mentoring that the teachers provide to the students. The
students are directed to turn into professionals with expertise and sound technical quest and sense.
Our college library with its varied collection of books, journals, magazines and e-resources also opens a
window to the wider world for the students.
Students regularly take to working for organizations and in distribution of help for the SERVICE OF
HUMANITY, while also undertaking academically driven research projects of applied nature both in
experimental and analytical fields. Various departments of the college affiliate themselves and work in collaboration with nationally acclaimed associations. The students here are empowered through
educational and co-curricular tasks alike to be better citizens and leaders in fast-changing culture of the
country. Reputed organizations have come for campus placements over the years and have also recruited many of our students.
We organize professional sessional trainings and also Technical Industrial Visits to improve the
competency of technical knowledge and skills. This gives them exposure to professional life and to the aspect of their job responsibility.
Apart from these we also inculcate sensitivity and responsibility towards environment in our students.
To make the campus eco-friendly, the college maintains three ornamental gardens. We appreciate biodiversity through our herbal garden.
