National Launch Forecast

• What is the NLF?• The NLF is a programming tool

• Assists in predicting launch vehicle procurement requirements

• Aids in predicting launch range/base throughput • Needed to properly scope range and

base support contracts

HQ AFSPC/XORS

National Launch Forecast (NLF) Compilation

• The NLF begins with a data call to the following agencies to forecast future launches (4-11 years):

• Department of Defense missions• HQ Air Force Space Command interfaces with

appropriate operational and acquisition agencies (SMC, DARPA, NRO, etc.)

• National Aeronautics & Space Agency (NASA)• Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for commercial

ventures launching from USAF Eastern or Western ranges

HQ AFSPC/XORS

NLF Compilation continued

• Responses to the data call are packaged, staffed, and published on the HQ AFSPC/XO Launch Information Support Network (LISN) website https://lisn.peterson.af.mil
