ALBERTOMARSICO
Alberto Marsico ALBERTO MARSICO is one of the most renowned
European organ players, shared the stage, among
others, with Kenny Burrell, Jimmy Wither-spoon, Alvin Queen, Jimmy Cobb, Joey De-Francesco, Bobby Durham and Jesse Davis.
Brother Jack McDuff recorded one of his songs, “Jack-
Pot”, in 1995.
Since then he toured all over the world (Los Ange-les, San Francisco, Bangkok, Shanghai, Mosca, Sydney, Singapore, Oslo, Tokyo, Berlino, Madrid, Parigi, Amsterdam, Hong Kong e Bruxelles) .
He recorded two albums in the U.S. and held workshops
in the most important Conservatories in Europe.
He recorded six solo albums and more than 50 cd’s in
collaboration with other artists.
Alberto Marsico is a fantastic jazz organist, but here you hear
him in another element, a rockish, bluesy kind of stuff, which I
love a lot, and I’ve never heard anybody do it better than Alberto”
Joey DeFrancesco, liner notes of “Soundsville
Blues for Alice in Wonderland”, 2007
As if he invented the genre, Alberto Marsico, with Jack Mc Duff’s
and Jimmy Smith’s intimations, reminds us how the blues should
be played and digested...
Jimmy Woode, liner notes of “Spirit of the Moment”, 1999
