INTRODUCTIONThe National Science Centre is a constituent unit of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) which is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Culture of the Government of India. It is a pioneering institute engaged in the popularisation of science among the people of the northern part of India in general and

among the students in particular. It was inaugurated on the 9th of January 1992 by the then Prime Minister of

India . Since opening, the Centre has rendered yeoman service to the cause of science popularisation.  It gives the students the chance to know about the modern and

some traditional art . It’s objective is to  popularisation of Science among the general public at large & students in particular . Efforts to achieve scientific literacy in the country.

National Gallery of Modern Art collects works representing changing art forms over the last century and a half and

features Bengali artists and styles. In addition to exhibition activities, the gallery organizes exhibitions abroad, lectures and conferences on modern art, and

maintains a library of books, periodicals, photographs and audiovisual materials.

The aesthetic and educational purposes are not only defined in the aims and objectives of the National Gallery

of Modern Art, but efforts are also being The foremost responsibility of the National Gallery of Modern Art is to

ensure quality and to set made so that they become implicit in its organization and pervade all its activities.

The National Gallery of Modern Art helps people to look at the works of modern art with greater joy, understanding and knowledge by extending their relationship with our

daily life and experiencing them as vital expressions of the human spirit.
