Peace Day September 21st 2012: a special campaign
There are already some exciting initiatives happening in the
period around September 21st. Below are just a couple.
If you want to get involved then one way of doing this is to get
together with others in your community and put an ad in a local
newspaper in the Whats On section, promoting the special
episodes of Words of Peace mentioned here.
The new Promotions Advertising and Distributions dept (PAD) can
supply a template . An example of this can be found on page 3
(the details on the draft are not correct). Get in touch with GPI
support for this.

Presenting Prem Rawat’s Message in Professional Settings: One
Day Conference June 23rd
This one day conference was a chance to listen to presentations about four exciting
initiatives, Peace Education In Prisons, Wellbeing in the Caring Professions, and
Presenting to Therapists and Business Women.
It was also a chance hear from John Holt who initiated what has become the now very
successful Prison Program and who, for the last ten years, has been talking to
different professionals as well as prisoners and other groups from all walks of life.
Other sessions were more interactive - for instance participants brainstormed key
learning points from these initiatives and had the opportunity to meet the different
teams involved. This was a highly well organised and successful event and
congratulations to all those who put this on. Key learning points from the discussion
groups will be utilised in a KIT which is being developed as part of this initiative.

Auto Workshop
Fred & Sandi are also building a
prototype multi-purpose, fully
configurable ‘auto-workshop’
version to run on a Mac
computer with Filemaker.
The presenter selects video
clips from a library, gives the
clips titles of their choice and
chooses the background and
layout for their event.
At the event the guest clicks on
the titles to view the clips they
would like to see. Clips are
typically anything from 2
minutes to 10 minutes long.
Wellbeing in the Caring ProfessionsThe aim of this project is to improve the well being of
people in the caring professions e.g. nurses, therapists,
social workers, doctors, etc, by introducing Prem
Rawat’s message to them.
John Holt has been asked to take forwards this initiative
as a Global Initiative and the team involved will be busy
working on a KIT which can be used by others.

of Peace about to be shown on
Information TV that are a big departure
from the usual event format.
This is the first time they have been made
available for TV distribution.
They are the 2011 Mazara Del Vallo /TPRF
event, entitled Seeds of Peace, Sunday
July 15th, 19:30pm and the 2011 Brussels

watchable programs?
These episodes will also be shown in the

unique public events with promo shorts
showing all week on Information TV and via
Facebook, accompanied by specially
designed ads which communities can use
in their local newspapers etc.
An example of such an ad can be seen on
page 3.

GPI Kick off and follow up meetings -
If your city or community has not yet had
a GPI kick off meeting do get in touch
with GPI support to ask for one.
Following the GPI Kick off meetings, we
are hoping that communities who have
held these events would like to get
together to think about how they can
start of their own local (or national)
peace initiatives.
Anyone in the community is very
welcome to get together with other
interested people to put one on! You
don’t have to have the meeting in a
public place if there are going to be only
a few people - why not hold a meeting in
your own home and invite a few
interested people?
There is support available via
the GPI team for these
meetings including
suggestions for videos
and format.
PPPPublic and Press Relations A set of Public and Press relations
guidelines is shortly to be made available.
In the meantime the following
suggestions may help people thinking
about contacting the media or even
doing any kind of initiative.
Contacting the media
Promotional activity may involve buying
space in a magazine or on TV or radio. It
does not include contacting journalists,
or the news side of a media organisation.
• Only PR Contacts deal with journalists
and news media
• PR guidelines are provided for PAD
Contacts; these contain relevant
information and a process for requesting
appropriate pictures.
Key Messages
• We promote the message of personal
peace, not the man
• We use his image with respect and with
permission, in context
• We avoid religious or new age
terminology (e.g. 'inner peace'; 'peace
within')
• We use the term 'personal peace'
• We use current quotes
