Most of Baugh’s examples are thoroughly suspect:• rhoticism• “flat a” - also in Britain But o-unrounding is an American innovation!• Vocabulary: – mad, sick, rare (meat) , platter, gotten– fortnight? fall/autumn? (ME: “hervest”. Thus “autumn” is
earlier!)
