Android Mail – Configuration

Open the Mail app on your Android smartphone.

If this is the first email account you set up on your phone, you will see the screen below. Ifthere is already another account, you will need to go to the menu and add a new account.

In this step enter the email address you want to set up and the associated password.(You can find the password in your easyname Controlpanel in [My Hosting] > [Email boxes]alongside the e­mail box which is linked to the mail address you want to set up. If you are notsure which mailbox to use, please refer to [My Hosting] > [Email addresses])

When finished, touch 'Manual setup'.

Account Type

You can now choose whether you want to use POP or IMAP.

When using IMAP, your e­mails remain on the server after downloading them (beware ofoverfilled e­mail boxes). Also when using IMAP if you create a folder in one mail client oreven webmail, those folders are available exactly like this on all other mail clients that havethis e­mail account configured.

When using POP, e­mails are downloaded from the server and then deleted by default.

Exchange/ActiveSync is not available for easyname.

Touch 'POP3' or 'IMAP' to continue.

Incoming Settings

Change   'Username'   to   the name of   your  e­mail  box  which   is  associated   to  your  e­mailaddress. The password in this mask is entered correctly already.

Please enter 'imap.easyname.com' as your 'IMAP server'.If you chose POP3 in the proceding step this field will have the name 'POP server'. In thiscase please enter 'pop.easyname.com'.

Finally please change 'Security type' to 'SSL/TLS'. 'Port' will change automatically dependingon the chosen server type and security type.

Touch 'Next' when you are done.

Outgoing Settings

As 'SMTP server' please enter 'smtp.easyname.com'.

Change   the   'Security   type'   to   'SSL/TLS',   the   port   changes   here   automatically   as   well.'Username' and 'Password' are too correct already.

Touch „Next“.

Synchronisation Settings

This step is only available if you chose 'IMAP' as account type. If you have chosen 'POP3'this step can be skipped.

We recommend to set 'Days to sync' to 'All', though you can choose all settings in this stepas you personally like.

Account Name and Sender's Name

You can now choose an account name to your liking in 'Set account name (optional)'.

For 'Your name (on outgoing messages)' you can enter a sender's name which will be seenby recipients of your e­mails.Normally you would want to provide your full name and/or a company name.

After you have confirmed by touching 'Next' your mobile phone is correctly set up for sendingand receiving your easyname e­mails!
