Angle Head | Duty Cycle BENZ Angle Heads Have a One (1) Year Warranty and are Expected to Last 3-5 Years Average Life.

1. Planned Use, 1 Shift Operation, 1,000 Hours Per Year

2. Maintain 10 Minute or Less Duty Cycle with 6 – 10 Minutes Rest. MQL Applications Have Lower Duty Cycle of 6 Minutes with 4 Minutes Rest.

3. Right Angle Head is Never Used Above Maximum RPM (Refer to Catalog).

4. Right Angle Head Should Never be Used Above Torque (NM) Specifications (Refer to Catalog) (Pay Attention to Tool Type, Dull Tools and Material Specifications as These Specifications / Conditions Will Affect the Torque Requirement).

5. Right Angle Head is Intended to be Used in Drilling and Light to Medium Milling Applications. Heavy Milling Applications Require a 3-Point Torque Arm to Supply Additional Rigidity Between the Torque Arm and Spindle Adapter.

6. For Heavy Usage Applications, Right Angle Heads Should be Sent to BENZ Inc. Annually for Inspection and Maintenance. For Standard Usage Applications, the Right Angle Head Should be Sent to BENZ Inc. Every 1 ½ - 2 Years for Inspection and Maintenance.

If the Right Angle Head Usage Exceeds Any of the Above Factors / Specifications, Life Expectancy Will be Greatly Reduced and Should be Sent for Inspection / Maintenance Sooner.

What is Average Life? Here are the Key Factors:

Application Example 1 (1)

• Machine (Vertical) without Internal Coolant and without Automatic Tool Change

• Tool Holder HSK 63 A

• Stop Block Already at the Machine

• No Mass Production

• Cheap Solution

Previously Discussed

Powered by theSee Machining from a New Angle benztooling.com/anglehead

• 771 for HSK 63 A without Internal Coolant

• WSX is a Versatile Solution

• 002 Nr. for the DMS of Present Angle Head

• 05 Size with 30 Nm for Cutting of M8 is Sufficient

• E5A ER25 Collet Chuck

• -135 the Length is Enough Because the Spindle via DMS is Enough

• 771WSX00205E5A-135

Application Example 2 (7)

• Machine: Internal Coolant and Auto Tool Change

• Tool Holder HSK 100 A

• Stop Block with Brace Support Exists Already on the Machine

• Small Series

Previously Discussed

Application Example 2 (8)

• Milling Groove Width of 12

• Hint: Components can Change in a Groove Width of 16 and 18. The Drill Ø is in Comparison Higher. The Strength of 90 mm Stays.

Task

Powered by theSee Machining from a New Angle benztooling.com/anglehead

Application Example 2 (9)

Approach and Solution Suggestion• Is There Already a Head from BENZ on the Machine and if Yes, What Kind of Description

(Drawing Number) is on the Head?

• If No BENZ Head is Used, we Will Need a Drawing of the Machine Spindle with the View and Dimensions of the Stop Block and the Allowed Weight.

• If No BENZ Angle Head in Use, but the Customer Gives us the Required Drawings.

• The Drawing Shows a Permitted Interference Circle of Ø 185 mm by Free Space and a Permitted Change Weight of 12 kg.

Powered by theSee Machining from a New Angle benztooling.com/anglehead

Application Example 2 (11)

Suggestion Solution• 713 for HSK 100 A with Internal Coolant, However Output Above Nozzle to the Tool (Drill Ø115)

• WWX Narrow and Good for Milling

• 125 Drawings of the Customer are Correct in Comparison to the BENZ Drawings (if There are no Drawings, it Will be Allocated a Continous Nr. and a New DMS Will be Designed)

• 07 Size with 70 Nm for Milling with Ø12-Ø18 mm is Enough

• E6A Customer is with Collet More Flexible, BMS is Too Big, Weldon or Whistle Notch Depend on Ø

• -155 the Length is Sufficient for an Application up to 90 mm
