Audubon’s mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth's biological diversity.

Conservation psychology is the

study of the reciprocal relationships

between humans and nature, with

a particular focus on how to

encourage conservation of the

natural world.

Effective EE

Effective Environmental Education programs that promote

pro-environmental awareness, attitudes, intent to act and

behaviors consist of:

• Extended duration – more than one time

• Experiential and hands-on

• Frequent direct exposure to nature

• Involve students actively and provide practice in action

• Local and relevant

• Real world application

• Peer-to-peer learning

• Supportive adult role

models
