And I always inquire about concepts that lack clarity, consequently drawing more light and depth into a project through a learning process that becomes beneficial to everyone.

At the Los Angeles State Historic Park, the shelter is strategically placed between several trees behind rows of deer grass to minimize the sight and sound of neighboring disturbances from vehicular and metro traffic.

1. accessible & transformative

• subterranean closet unit multifunctions as the pull-out communal tabletop above ground

• fold-up bed allows accessibility while maintaining communal space

organized and structured to nurture both social interaction and individual privacy between three different researchers

2. comfortable roof terrace with a view of downtown L.A. framed through trees

• prefab bathroom unit becomes an airy and calming roof terrace

• waterproofing canvas keeps the structure light in the summer

3. cooled by the earth and calmed by the deer grass

a versatile modular bench that can be organized into various configurations fit for any social situation

the strength lies within the simplistic folded form

as thin as 1/16th of an inch and can support a full-grown man
