Carolina is focused on the intensity and power

of the persona, trying to give the energy and weight

to subjects through paintings.

The work is emotionally heavy, and intensely

atmospheric – shaped this way by the experiences

of our “modern” world.

Portraits, facial expressions and the interaction

of her subjects with the audience on a personal level

are among the themes that she has been exploring

lately.

Carolina uses traditional techniques deliberately

to conflict with the strong or extreme subject matter,

and developing her own instinctive contemporary

approach to painting.
