Assistive TechnologiesBy: Candace Deonarine

Assistive technology is used by individuals with disabilities to perform functions that would be difficult to handle.

Importance

It gives children and adults the chance to learn and live.

Visually Impaired

Screen magnification enlarges information, inverts the screen with color, and enhances learning.

Hearing Impaired

Captioning is the process for converting audio information into text and displaying the text on a screen or monitor.

Speech ImpairedVOCAs are voice output communication aids. These are electronic devices that use symbols to represent messages.

Physically Impaired

Voice recognition software allows a person to control the computer by speaking.

Mentally Impaired

Computer Software provides keyboards and tools to assist to peoples needs.
