Are you ambitious, talented and a strong advocate of a landscape-led approach to national scale development projects?
Do you aspire to lead a team of Landscape Architects renowned for their creativity, rigour and ability to shape projects, lead project teams and influence key stakeholders?
Define are a consultancy of over 20 professionals including Landscape Architects, Urban Designers, Town Planners
and Architects. Our origin is landscape-led, and this remains our ethos and approach on all our projects. We are well
known throughout the UK by key clients and influencers both for this approach, and our ability to lead and shape
some of the most complex and high-profile development projects in the UK - whether leading the creation of new
settlements, key urban regeneration projects or providing evidence at a wide range of nationally prominent planning
inquiries.
We have an opportunity for an Associate Landscape Architect to lead and develop a small team of landscape
architects with an emphasis on large scale Green and Blue Infrastructure design (including both landscape design
and landscape planning processes) with the opportunity to grow with the practice beyond this level. We are looking
for a candidate that reflects our ethos and approach and will provide significant support and training to ensure their
long-term success.
The successful candidate will:
• Have 10+ years experience of working as a Landscape Architect, and will be a CMLI;
• Have recent experience of delivering landscape-led visions, outline planning applications and delivery stages
(RM and condition discharge) of large scale projects with the highest quality expectations;
• Have recent experience of delivering robust site appraisals, LVIAs, visualisation processes, and ideally
planning inquiry experience;
• Have strong management, inter-personal and client facing skills;
• Be conversant with Adobe and Vectorworks software packages (although on-going training will be provided).
The role will provide a competitive salary with a wide range of additional (and flexible) benefits. Please send a
covering letter, your CV, and samples of work via email to: andy@wearedefine.com. We’re happy to have pre-
application discussions with any candidates if you would like to know more about the role. We look forward to
hearing from you :)
We recognise that recent months have been a period of both reflection and concern for our fellow professionals, and we are welcoming applications as soon as possible, but will not be closing applications until Friday September 11th to allow potential candidates to reflect on their circumstances and ambitions and welcome discussions with
potential candidates before this deadline. We emphasise that Define has retained a full team capability throughout lockdown and have a positive forecast for future projects.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK with a current visa. No agencies or third party applications please. Define are an equal opportunities employer.
