AtmosphereAtmosphere – Earth’s air, which is made up of a thick layer of gases, solids, and liquids.Troposphere – layer of Earth’s atmosphere that is closest to the ground, contains 99% of the water vapor and 75% of gasesIonosphere – Layer of electrically charged particles in the thermosphere that absorbs AM radio waves.Ozone Layer – Layer of the atmosphere that contains a high layer of Ozone.Ultraviolent radiation – a type of energy that comes from the Sun, can damage skin and cause cancer. Chlorofluorocarbon – chemicals used in refrigerators, air conditioners, and aerosol sprays that can damage the Ozone.

AtmosphereRadiation – energy transferred by waves or rays. Conduction – transfer of energy when molecules bump in to each other.Convection – transfer of heat by the flow of material.Hydrosphere – all the water on Earth’s surfaceCondensation – process in which water vapor changes to a liquid.

AtmosphereCoriolis effect – causes moving air and water to turn left in the southern hemisphere, and turn right in the northern hemisphere.Jet stream – narrow belt of strong winds that blow near the top of the troposphere.Sea Breeze – movement of air from sea to land during the day when cooler air above the water moves over the land.Land Breeze – movement of air from land to sea at night, created when cooler air from the land forces warmer air over the sea up.

Ozone = 0.008%

Ozone fact:•In August the Ozone begins to open.

•It reaches it lowest point in October and begins to increase.

•By December the Ozone Hole disappears.
