Patron’s Message
Dear Students ,
Within 4/5 weeks , new Government will come into existence. This will be, I
hope Era of new opportunities for young MBA’s and MCA’s. How the young
budding managers will take the advantage ?
1st important point is ‘Do what you like the most’, opportunities are everywhere.
But you will be successful in the field you like.
Second point is how to know ourselves. Most of the graduate students after
passing even Master’s degree are not very clear what they want to do in life. If
you do not know what you want to do , how you could take advantages of
opportunities ?
Therefore decide clearly and precisely what to do in future life. To know what
you like , Industry, Business, Art, Fine Art, move , travel, attend the business
meeting. You would know , what is happening outside and what is area of your
liking.
Dear students, you can mould your career as per your liking and you will be
best in the field.
GOOD LUCK!
Mr. M D Jambekar
ATSS Trust Chairman

Editor's Desk
Are you Facebook SMART of Face to Face?
It gives me a great pleasure to interact with you all through Patibimb.
Since it is my first interaction of this year through Pratibimb , let me wish you
all a very happy, Prosperous and healthy new year 2019 .
Pratibimb is your own image seen by you or others having reflection image
about you. Today with the new age era, I see lot of change in socio, family
cultural dimensions in communication. The way with which connectivity,
networking , interactions ,dialogue is taking place within and between persons
in society.
The technology is playing a pivotal role in this change and speed of change.
From 2 years Children to 85 years old grandfather/grandmother everyone is
conversant with digital network devices. This has enhanced the speed of
networking, communication and connects. Face to face communication is
slowly moving towards face book communication. Is this the only way of
communication?
This is not a healthy and transparent communication. In face book
communication you take the meaning of the word, what is said and not meant.
Therefore lot of misunderstanding and miscommunication is taking place
resulting in efficiency and less effective outcome.
I suggest we need to explore technology for our process excellence without
damaging human relations and with proper interaction. How this can be done?
1. With Faith and fair communication
2. Giving Space and Time
3. Remove ambiguity in communication
4. Demand clarification from receiver and sender
5. Complete the communication with forward looking and backward
integrating feed back loop
Thus technology will enable the change and speed of change which will be
taking place through communication, but it is human emotional quotient which
will significantly enhance people side of productivity.
Therefore my sincere appeal to all is , to have effective and efficient use of
Technology for communication but never miss the bus of face to face
communication which will be impact full and result oriented for personnel and
Page | 7
business excellence .This is the need of today’s competitive and challenging
business situation.
Therefore be Face to Face SMART in communication in understanding Facts
,Ideas , feelings and opinions of the communicator and respond than react to
explore beauty of communication.

See the success you desire
Albert Einstein once said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge.
For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world,
stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution."
Successful people are those who visualize the kind of success they want to
enjoy in advance.Unsuccesful people, on the other hand, also use visualization
to reflect upon their failures.Unsuccesful people think about the last time they
failed or did poorly in this area and then imagine failing again. As a result their
subconcious minds have been preprogrammed for their failure rather than
success.
The most common characteristic of leaders at all levels , throughout the ages is
vision.
Walt Disney, the creator of Disneyland, saw a happy clean family amusement
park many yaers before Disneyland was built.
Wayne Dyer says, "You will see it when you believe it."
Visualization activates the law of fattraction which draws into our life the
people, circumstances and resources that we need to achieve our goals. I
recently came across the word "mental rehersal". it is said that top athletes in
every field metally rehearse their events before they go into active competition.
They see themselves performing at thier best prior to every event. For many
days and hours prior to a major compeition they visualize themselves performin
successfully over and over again.
Mozart could see an entire operain his own mind before he began writing music.
Choice is something that we always have.We can choose to feed our mind with
positive and exciting favourable thoughts or by default allow it to be pre-
occupied by negative thoughts. The choice is up to us.

Design Thinking – The Human Side of Business
Are we ready for Industry 4.0?
This question always comes to my mind when
I see the new revolution started in Germany
way back in 2014. This question provoked me
to think and link customer requirement to
customer delight journey through Design
Thinking.
In the era of innovation and startups, Design Thinking has paved a niche path
for itself. The word though sounds like a conglomeration of two varied concepts
Design and Thinking, but truly speaking is the success mantra for any upcoming
innovation or startup.
The concept of Design Thinking provides a solution based approach to solving
problems. It emphasizes on the thinking like a designer which in turn can
transform the way organizations develop products, services, processes, and
strategy.
A five stage concept that includes
1. Empathy (Step in the shoes)
2. Define (the problem)
3. Ideate (through mind mapping, brainstorming)
4. Prototype (build a sample)
5. Test
While design thinking has its roots in the innovation/design sector, the process
itself can be used anywhere. Indeed, it is a great tool for teaching 21st century
skills, as participants must solve problems by finding and sorting through
information, collaborating with others, and iterating their solutions based on real
world, authentic experience and feedback.
Page | 34
Design thinking started as a way of thinking about how to creatively design
indoor and outdoor spaces with an emphasis on solving problems in ways that
benefit or increase interaction. One of the key achievements of Design thinking
would be adding wheels to the Suit
cases. The transformation of the
product design made peoples life
easy.
To accomplish this goal, the
process relies on empathy,
brainstorming, and re-designing
solutions, looping back repeatedly
to try to see designs from the
viewpoint of users. The business
and product-design industries
embrace design thinking because it provides a way to focus on user experiences.
Design thinking methods and strategies belong at every level of the design
process. However, design thinking is not an exclusive property of designers—
all great innovators in literature, art, music, science, engineering, and business
have practiced it. What’s special about design thinking is that designers and
designers’ work processes can help us systematically extract, teach, learn, and
apply these human-centered techniques in solving problems in a creative and
innovative way—in our designs, in our businesses, in our countries, and in our
lives. With Design Thinking, bringing designs to life is a circuitous journey of
many discoveries. Moving forward on the right
track involves taking several steps backwards,
several times.
That means that design thinking is not only for
designers but also for creative employees,
freelancers, and business leaders. It’s for anyone
who seeks to infuse an approach to innovation
that is powerful, effective and broadly
accessible, one that can be integrated into every
level of an organization, product, or service so as to drive new alternatives for
businesses and society.
Page | 35
Are we Ready for Industry 4.0?
Obvious answer is NO……..
But Design Thinking right from LEAN Process Thinking to Design for Six
Sigma will make our processes robust and which will take us from present
revolution to near Industry 4.0 revolution.

To err is human, to forgive is divine
As human beings we all act responsibly but sometimes we do all make mistakes
and we are constantly in need of forgiveness.Alexandar Pope has rightly said "To
err is human,to forgive is divine".Forgiveness is that quality in a human that
separates him from animals. It is a process by which we free the energythat was
once consumed by holding grudges.Forgiveness is about starting afresh. Paul
Boese quoted that "Forgivness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the
future".Mahatama Gandhi stated that "The weak can never
forgive.Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong". We often think of
forgiveness as something that someone who has done us wrong must ask of us.
There is always another way to look at it.
Its true 'An eye for eye makes the world go blind'.To forgive is not an excuse
to stop the pain we feelwhen we are wronged, but rather to enter again into life's
playfield again.
We all know that 'Violence begets violence'.Forgiveness cannot undo harm
caused. On the other hand forgiveness can make the guilty realize their mistakes
and perhaps transform them into better human beings.
Forgiveness works. It is often difficult but it works. Choice is always present in
forgiveness. It is a gift you give to yourself. It is not something you do for
someone else.It is not complicated. It is simple.Refusing to forgive by holding on
to anger,we can make our own lifes miserable. When we forgive we must do it for
ourselves not for others. To not forgive the wrong doer is taking the poison and
expecting them to die. There have been several interesting variations to the above
saying.Few of the Doglovers claim that "To err is human,to forgive canine".My
friend once claimed that "To err is human, but it feels divine". Once someone
mentioned "To err is human, but to really mess things up you need a computer".
But in all "To Err Is Human, To Forgive Divine".

Brainstorming on ‘Existence’
About 13.8 billion years ago a Big Bang happened (which is universally
accepted theory right now). According to Prof. Stephen Hawking there was
nothing before the Big Bang(?). About 4.5 billion years ago Earth was formed.
We humans are living on this Earth since approx. 2 million years. Since then we
made many inventions, we made great progress in economics, engineering,
science & technology. In short we made and we still are trying to make our life
much easier. Meanwhile the selfishness, ego, self-conceit started to growing
within us. In time we created nations, boundaries, religions, casts, sub-casts
which causes regress. We saw two world wars, we are in the middle of cold
war, and on the edge of third world war.
We wake up every day, rush for our work, make stupid fights for
stupid reasons, spent days and nights on social media trying to get attention by
making a false lifestyle, struggles to earn marks in SSC, HSC, then graduation,
then post graduation, maybe PH.D, then some job or business, after than
marriage and kids, then retirement, then we get older, and…and we die. It
doesn’t matter how much money you earned. Money can’t be the parameter of
success. I don’t think that’s the purpose of our life. Did we really made our life
easy? For what purpose we live? For what purpose we die? Why are we doing
all of this? What is the real purpose of our life, our existence?
Why do we exist? Why is the Universe exist? Who created us? And
why? or Are we just a byproduct of the Big Bang? Are we living in a
Simulation? Is our whole life is just a dream? Do you never ask these questions
to yourself? What if life and death is a cycle which will go on forever? And we
don’t even know. Yet we are fighting for- whose name should be given for the
bridge? whose statue should be more tall?, How to divide this river’s water in
equal? What should be the correct name of that city? How to produce more
weapons even if the country’s people are starving to death? All I want to say
that why can’t we just live together in peace as a human. But maybe it’s too late
for this. Even if we want to change people’s mind it will take minimum two
generations to wipe out these evil thoughts.
After all there is a hope for everything. Our brain is most powerful,
mysteries thing in the whole universe. Because of the consciousness we are
feeling this existence. Just think what Mother Nature gave us. Maybe our brain
is the key for all these mysterious questions. Imagination is the superpower that
we have. All we have to do is, amplify our senses and use more percentage of
Page | 38
our brain. Sky is not the limit; our mind is. When I close my eyes, look within
myself, then I don’t think we are just a by-product or coincidence. And I hope
one day this quote gets true - That is ‘you’ that you have been searching for.

Student’s sharing about Mentoring Activity
Mentee: Ms. Prajakta Patil (MCA I)
I feel so privilege that I got my Mentor as Sanjay Sir. And as a Mentees we
students get to learn a lot from sir. This session for me was like someone who
asks and allows me to see the hope inside myself. Not only we get chance to
interact with Sir but get many more new ideas related to studies, extra
curriculum activities where we can show our potential. Mentoring session leads
us to know that about ourselves that we were not knowing earlier or that small
things which we never used to care.so we actually paid attention towards our
strength and weaknesses and can work accordingly. All of the mentors were so
Frank that we won't feel that we had conversations with teachers. This was my
first time ever in life where I got chance for me exchange my views and ideas
for my betterment with so experienced teacher who takes so much of efforts to
make our dream comes true. Sharing our thoughts at the time of mentoring was
like the way we used to talk to our colleague. Colleagues are good – but
mentors, that's where the real work gets done.
Last but not least mentor encouraged me.
Mentee: Ms. Simaran Kohali (MCA I)
Mentorship is a learning and development partnership between someone with
experience and someone who wants to learn. I found it extremely helpful to talk
my ideas through with someone who was experienced and clearly
knowledgeable. My mentor was Mrs. Priya Deshpande. This was my first time
in mentoring. I hadn't been a part of such a great activity before. As a mentee it
was my opportunity to get clear with all my doubts I had in my mind. Mrs.
Priya not only gave a solution to my doubts and issues but also guided me a
path for my career. As a mentor she told me that she believes I'm a good student
and in person there may be some flaws which is fine and can be over come. I
wasn't punctual of time, but after this session I've realized the importance of
time and how not being punctual would affect me in my future. Ma'am had also
Page | 39
assigned me a task of coming to college on time which will help me get
punctual. Also I learnt that I should be humble every time. Ma'am saw a
leadership quality in me and told me that it's in you how to maintain that quality
and move forward by taking everyone together. My overall mentoring
experience was quite amazing. I got a chance to get valuable knowledge from
such an experienced person and the knowledge that would always be there with
me. I am awaiting for such many more mentoring sessions .
Mentee: Ms. Pragati Agrawal (MCA I)
I had gone through such activity a very first time. It was such a great
experience. I had got the solution of my problems as well as I set the goals as
per sir’s suggest. Sir help me in many of my problems related to curriculum as
well as co-curriculum. I am waiting for many more sessions of one to one
mentoring. He supported and encouraged me by offering suggestions and
knowledge, both general and specific. I got to know that I want to improve my
skills and hopefully ,I will advance in my career.
My mentor firstly asked about my family background and then about my
strength and weaknesses and then he suggested me few tips & tricks to
overcome my fears and that tips are really helpful to me. After these mentoring
activity I can seen a positive change within me. Thank you sir for being such a
nice mentor.
Mentee: Ms. Shreya Sonawane
The mentoring session was really a great session. We discussed our issues to
our mentor and they guided us so well. They listened our problems just like our
friends would listen and suggested us .Not only problems were discussed but
also all the happy things and hobbies and interests were discussed with the
mentor. Frankly speaking 1 hour of mentoring felt like 10 minutes. Priya mam
is genuinely a good person and a good teacher but most important she turned
out to be a good friend as well . Thankyou mentors .
Mentee: Ms. Rajashri Gaykar
The Mentoring Program gave me a chance to make connections and to meet
people I'm always hearing about. My mentor's ,Mathapati Sir,workplace is a
great place to volunteer or to find work opportunities.
Page | 40
Mentee: Ms. Pragati Kalekar
My mentor is Mathapati sir. It was really good opportunity to us to become
friendly with teachers and share our problems with them.. Sir has guided me for
improving my soft skills and much more...Thanks for taking such kind of
programs for us.
