That is a task that has real world relevance, learners learn from doing not while

seated on their desks...

Lesson outcomes1.Learners will be able to define apartheid.

2.Learners will be able to explain the events that occurred.

3.Learners will be able to collaborate and research information without the teacher's assistance.

4.Learners will be able to understand why learning about apartheid is still important.

Learners will be able to empathize with the people who suffered during the apartheid era.

What is apartheid??

ActivityActivity brief: The topic

apartheid has been defined. Now the

learners are required to research it.

Question for the research: what was apartheid and what

were the past atrocities that the

black people had to endure???

Steps to follow in order to complete

the task: 1. Learners are supposed to divide themselves into

groups of 10.

2. Learners are going to interview people and write down what they are told.

3. They are supposed to meet and compare their research as a group.

4.They have a week to do this and finalize it.

Steps to follow before presenting: Three days before presenting,

learners must decide what kid of presentation they will do:

Points to be assessed:

5 marks- learners show understanding of topic.15 marks- learners have presented good points5 marks- evident that learners have researched
