the ground and 2 miles from London Heathrow• Autopilot called for more engine power – no

response. The pilot tried to intervene – no engine response

• Aircraft continued to descend and just cleared the perimeter fence, impacting the turf about 1000 ft before the runway

• Aircraft came to rest at the beginning of the paved runway surface

• Right Main Landing Gear separated from the aircraft• Left Main Landing Gear was pushed up through the

wing root• Aircraft sustained “substantial” damage• 152 Passengers and crew were aboard…no fatalities
