First President… George Washington was the first

president. He had no political party, he was

actually against them. The presidents job is to lead the

country, sign laws for the country, meet with other leaders and try to solve worldly problems, and many more.

First Cabinet.. The cabinet includes; Secretary of State Secretary of the treasury And Secretary of War

First Secretary of State.. Thomas Jefferson was the first

secretary of state. The secretary of state handles relations

with other nations.

Alexander Hamilton was the first secretary of the treasury.

The secretary of the treasury handles financial problems.

First Secretary of War.. Henry Knox was the first secretary of

war. The secretary of war handles the

nations defense.

First Attorney General.. The first attorney general was Edmund

Randolph. The attorney general represents the

United States in legal matters, and gives advice and opinions to the president and to other heads of executive departments if asked to.

Judiciary Act.. The judiciary act was made in 1789.

Section 1 of the Act declared "the supreme court of the United States shall consist of a chief justice and five associate justices, any four of whom shall be a quorum, and shall hold annually at the seat of government two sessions, the one commencing the first Monday of February, and the other the first Monday of August. That the associate justices shall have precedence according to the date of their commissions, or when the commissions of two or more of them bear date on the same day, according to their respective ages."

Section 13 of the Judiciary Act was a topic of controversy in Marbury v. Madison, (1803), when Chief Justice Marshall decided that portion of the legislation was unconstitutional because Congress had overstepped its authority by authorizing the Court to issue writs of mandamus to US government officials, which Marshall interpreted as being in contradiction with the Constitution.
