Classroom ProceduresRules and consequences-Our focus is on respect for self and others. Being responsible for actions. Green/yellow/red cards and behavior calendar. Please sign calendar if your child is on yellow or red.

Homework

Students are responsible for copying their homework off the board each morning and writing it in their H copybook. Please check your child’s homework. Homework that is incomplete will be finished at morning recess.

Tests/Conferences Test folders are sent home every Monday. Please sign tests and return in folder the next day.

Conferences are scheduled during the first trimester. A conference can be arranged anytime a parent or teacher requests one.

92-96 Very Good-VG

84-90 Good -G

77-83 Satisfactory-S

72-76 Improvement needed-I

Below 72 is Unsatisfactory - U

Religion-Our focus is on Baptism, Reconciliation, First Eucharist, church seasons, church objects, the Mass and sacramental preparation.

CurriculumMath-Students are expected to memorize addition and subtraction facts to 20. Math drills are given weekly starting in January.

Handwriting-Cursive is introduced in November.

Reading- Students will move away from learning to read and move towards reading to learn, spelling and reading tests are weekly. New Fundations program will focus on phonics.

H folder-goes home every night. Please send any correspondence in this folder.

Star of Week-I provide a poster for your child to complete. It is given a week ahead. Each day we have a different activity to celebrate our star.

Birthdays are acknowledged. We celebrate with a birthday party for everyone at the end of the year.

Please make sure your child has extra masks.
