Bad Design Project:Revisions of the Campus Bus System

Alexis BiancoJanuary 14, 2011Dr. Chiu

CATA was awarded the Outstanding Public Transportation System Achievement Award in the years 1991 and 2007.

Since 1972, the number of bus routes has doubled to 28 and passengers took 10.6 million more rides in 2010 than in 1972.

All buses should contain digital signs on the back to efficiently express the route.

LOOP

The “stop requested” cord should be lengthened to be fully accessible to standing passengers.

Groves in the steps should be rotated to reduce falling as a result of icy weather.

Additional handles should be implemented to increase the safety of standing passengers.
