To create a safe and healthy campus in Universitas Indonesia especially in laboratory.

Occupational Safety Health and Environment (OSHE) Unit and Office of Learning Resources have developed Occupational Safety and Health Online Training through University’s online learning websites scele.ui.ac.id.

Basic Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in Laboratory training is mandatory to be taken by the students, Laboratory staff, and Lecturer who will enter the chemical or biological laboratory

The sub-topics are recognizing OSH Hazard and Risk in Laboratory, PPE and Important Safety Aspect in Laboratory, Emergency Response in Laboratory, and Guidance to Use Portable Fire Extinguishers.

About The Training

• Basic Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in Laboratory training is mandatory to be taken before participating another advanced training (Bio-risk, Chemical Safety, and Infectious Diseases Awareness)

• The steps are taking a pre-test, watch the video playback training, taking a post-test.

• The certificate is provided to the participant with the passing grade of 100 (the post test)

Average pretest score of Basic OHS in Lab was 92.75 and the post-test score was 96.94.

Results suggested that there was an increased knowledge of participants 4.52%.

The sig. (2-Tailed) value from paired sample t-test between pretest and post-test in this research is 0.038 (less than alpha 0,05). There is a statistically significant difference between the mean number of pretest and post-test.

Online Training has been found as an efficient way in term of cost and time for large number participants also, significantly increase knowledge of the participants.
